ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA FOR

NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF P&H PRODUCT
1.0 SCOPE

This procedure establishes the nondestructive testing acceptance criteria for purchased, subcontract and
P&H Mining Equipment manufactured products.

2.0 PURPOSE

This procedure establishes criteria upon which accept/reject decisions are to be made, based on the type
of product examined and the nondestructive test method utilized.

4.0 REQUIREMENTS

4.1 The acceptance criteria identified by Table I shall be applied whenever nondestructive testing is
specified, unless otherwise indicated by drawing, routing or purchase order.

4.2 When a different acceptance criteria is indicated on a defining document, it shall supercede the
requirements of this procedure.

4.3 Rejection of product in accordance with criteria established by this procedure does not necessarily
imply that such product is unfit for its intended use, but rather that a basis has been established
whereby further evaluation by appropriate P&H personnel is required.

4.4 Disposition of rejected product shall be determined and documented in accordance with MOP 13.5.8.
Dispositions may include: scrap, salvage, rework, return to supplier, or use-as-is.

4.5 Personnel performing nondestructive testing shall be qualified and certified in accordance with P&H
Nondestructive Testing Manual, Section NDT-PQ (latest revision). Testing personnel outside
Harnischfeger Corporation shall be qualified and certified in accordance with (ASNT) SNT-TC-1A
(1980 or later revision).

4.6 Written reports shall be completed for nondestructive tests performed (excluding visual). Reports
shall be maintained on file by Quality Assurance as "inspection reports" per the record retention
manual.

4.7 Applicable nondestructive test report forms are listed in the TABLE 1 KEY. Testing personnel
outside P&H Mining Equipment may use other report formats that provide equivalent information.
