1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this method statement is to ensure the install the electrical conduit in CGT
foundation by chipping because of previous installed conduit closed. That conduit installed
bottom of CGT foundation.

2. SCOPE

This Method of statement covers the preparation, chipping,Installation of Electrical Conduit and
repair as per Saudi Aramco Standards.

5. WORK PROCEDURE

5.1 Marked the concrete surface for the chipping to be carried out as per requirement.
5.2 Concrete chipping by applicable chipping tools & method for the concrete chipping
marked line. This will facilitate a clear and clean termination of chipping.Concrete
chipping shall not be deeper 300mm & wider than 400mm.
5.3 Ensure that the Reinforcement shall not be damaged and violates ASTM A775 .
Otherwise it will be replaced as per IFC drawing requirements.
5.4 After chipping, remove and clean the reinforcement for remaining concrete debris.
Retouch the damage coating as necessary. Touch-up paint shall be an approved
material.
5.5 Install electrical RGS conduite as per SAES-P-104 8.1 Underground conduit
8.1.1 Direct buried conduit shall be PVC conduit Type DB-120 (minimum
modulus of elasticity 500,000 psi) per NEMA TC 6 & 8 or Type EPC-40-PVC per
NEMA TC 2.
8.1.2 Concrete encased conduit shall be PVC conduit Type EB-35 or DB-120 (minimum
modulus of elasticity 500,000 psi) per NEMA TC 6 & 8 or Type EPC-40-PVC per
NEMA TC 2.
8.9.3 Conduit fittings for direct buried PVC coated rigid steel conduit shall
be factory PVC coated.
8.9.6 Fittings for NEMA TC 6 & 8 Type PVC conduit shall be in accordance
with NEMA TC 9. Fittings for NEMA TC 2 Type PVC conduit shall
be in accordance with NEMA TC 3. TC 9 and TC 3 fittings are
generally not interchangeable.
5.6 Prepare the area for pouring concrete. Clean the area from any dust, rubbish materials,
oil or grease, etc. which could impair adhesion.
5.7 Apply bonding agent on the concrete surface properly by using brush to ensure proper
adhesion between the surface of concrete and 5000PSI concrete
5.10 After the area is prepared for pouring, an RFI shall be raise prior to pouring the
concrete 5000 PSI

5.11 Concrete Sampling testing & Placement shall be in accordance with criteria
SAES-Q-001.

6 ITP PROCEDURES

6.1 INSPECTION TESTING & QUALITY REOCRDS

All inspection either by visual or by 3rd party testing will be recorded in accordance with the job
specific inspection and test procedures. All related documents will be signed off all inspecting
parties and will be filled by the contractor quality control Engineer in order to be included in the
Project Quality Records.
Inspection shall be offered to Saudi Aramco 24 hours in advance as per SATIP.

7 RESPONSIBILITES

7.1 Site Engineer

Site Engineer shall organize all activities related to chipping,installation of conduit,placement of


concrete & curing. It should be carried out as clearly as possible to ensure that the work and all
other related activities proceed accordingly and safely.

7.2 Supervisor/Foreman

Site Supervisor shall arrange safe working plan, and supervise the workforce so as to achieve the
proper and safe execution of work.
7.2.1 Dust mask while sanding
7.2.2 PPE required for power attached tool operator
7.2.3 MSDS information regarding the PPE requirements for working with glue
and other materials that have a potential for harm.
7.2.4 Wear gloves, goggles & dust mask
7.2.5 Any other requirement that ties pertinent to the safe working plan.

7.3 QA/QC Inspectors

7.3.1 QA/QC Inspector shall raise RFI to SAPID for pouring inspection as per
SATIP & SAIC
7.3.2 All works are carried out as per the latest revision of the IFC drawings
7.3.3 He shall ensure the correctness of the location and elevation
7.3.4 He shall ensure that all works are in accordance with standards,
specification & this method statement.

8 SAFETY

8.1 Fire and Explosion Prevention

8.1.1 Smoking and /or the use of open flames shall be permitted only in
designated safe areas and never inside confined areas. Any hot works
such as welding and the use of heating coils are prohibited in areas where
coating is in progress.
8.1.2 All electrical lighting, equipment and connections shall conform to National
Electric Code (NEC), Class I, Division I, Group D explosion proof
requirements (NEC Article 500) as per SAES-B-068.
8.1.3 Solvents and paints shall not be applying to surfaces warmer than 800C if
practical alternatives exist.
8.1.4 Work permits for hot work, cold work, and confined space entry shall be
obtained in accordance with Sepco Arabia permitting system.
8.1.5
8.2 Health Hazard

8.2.1 Safety shoes and goggles shall always be worn and safety hats shall be
worn as required by proponent organizations.
8.2.2 Compressed air from any source shall not be used by personnel for
cleaning or cooling themselves.
8.3 PPEs

8.4 Responsibilities of Safety Inspector

8.4.1 Safety Inspector in conjunction with the Supervisor will physically check &
conform that all approved safety procedures in this method statement
have been & will continue to be adhere to.
8.4.2 The safety inspector will confirm that all access to the working area is
clear of hazards& debris that may hinder access & egress of the work
platform. He will confirm this to the activity supervisor before work begins.
