Trivedi-AMA Academy for Intellectual Property Rights

4TH ANNUAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Summit 2011
… evolving knowledge based society
January 22 & 23, 2011 - 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Venue: H.T. Parekh Convention Centre, AMA Complex, Ahmedabad
The increasing rate of IP related cyber crimes in India and whether existing laws are adequate to deal with the new
phenomenon will be one of the critical issues in the agenda of the Fourth Annual Intellectual Property Summit to
be held on January 22 and 23, 2011.
The increased dependence on IT and communication technology for dynamic and fast business solutions has its
own side effects. The effect of digital information technologies poses endless benefits for the citizens of the world.
The dark side of it, not surprisingly, is the misuse of Information Technology for illegal activities. The summit is
sponsored by the Y.J. Trivedi-Ahmedabad Management Association Academy for Intellectual Property Rights. Taking
care of IP Rights in drafting of contracts, sharing of patent royalty between researchers, universities and governments
to encourage innovations and creation of IP Rights in Food Industry and cyber laws against illegal activities such
as counterfeiting, hacking, cyber squatting, copyrights, emails and website violations, are the other important issues
that will be debated. Leading businessmen, management pundits, I.P. Professionals, leading lights of software
firms, The Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India are expected to attend the summit.
