    Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) is a direct adaptive control strategy that adjusts controller parameters so the actual plant output tracks a reference model output given the same input. It consists of an outer feedback loop and inner parameter adjustment loop. The Self-Tuning Regulator is an indirect adaptive control method that estimates a linear regression model using recursive least squares and designs a minimum variance controller. It can converge to the minimum variance control law even for colored disturbances.
