The Beauty in Change

I made it to Colorado Springs!

Over the last month and a half, I graduated from the

University of Memphis with a BS in Nursing, put my Points to Ponder
house on the market, connected with many of you
reading this, moved to Colorado, sold my house, and
started the journey of full-time ministry. I moved into a
REPENT:
house with three great roommates and jumped right
into work when I got to the Springs. It's been hectic and 2 CORINTHIANS 7:10
non-stop action, but I am so thankful for those of you
who have joined my team to help make this possible.
BELIEVE:
Change has never been easy for me, because I like to be GALATIANS 3:1-7
in control. However, God is teaching me so much in this
season of life - that's the beauty in change. If we stay
where we are comfortable, we never allow room for the FIGHT:
Holy Spirit to transform our hearts. EPHESIANS 4: 17-32

Ministry in the Midst of a Pandemic

Due to COVID-19 restrictions
and precautions, ministry
looks a little different than a
typical summer at Village
Seven Presbyterian Church.
The summer mission trips
and camping trip had to be
cancelled; however, we are
able to still meet with the
youth in small groups of 8-10
kids throughout the week for
three weeks at a time. We are
calling these sessions
"electives" where the youth  I have been so fortunate to
sign up for various activities
from mountain biking to
baking to hiking to just
hanging out in hammocks.
Although it may not look like
a typical summer, it has been
such a sweet time to get to
know the students better.
With this elective session, we
were able split up about 120+
students into 19 activities
each week. While having fun
with their friends, the
students are also engaged in
Scripture through a group
devotional.
be welcomed with open
arms and accepted by
families here that make me
feel at home.
Prayer Requests
As I embark on this journey and
dive further into ministry, I could
really use the following prayers:
1. During these unprecedented
times, tough conversations
are unavoidable. Please just
pray that these conversations
are gospel centered as we
discuss race and justice in
America. Pray that we have
the ears to listen and hearts
to understand what others
are going through.
2. Pray for the staff here at V7PC
as we further navigate what
ministry looks like for the Fall
and how to reach students
despite social distancing
restrictions.
3. I could also use some prayers
of affirmation. I am
surrounded by some of the
most faithful people I know
here and often find myself
comparing experiences with
others. I tend to doubt that I
am qualified for this position.
Pray that God will continue to
open my eyes to see that this
is His work and not my own
and that it is because of His
sovereignty that any of this is
even possible.
