Company Details: This a restaurant that serves street food in a family-friendly environment.
They serve quality food to their consumers in a family-friendly environment while maintaining a
price as much as any other street food vendor. They firstly started their business in Ajompur, then
as their business grew bigger they opened 2 more branches, one in Sector-03 and the other one in
Tongi. And it is run by 4 of them.
Have something of my own...
Mr. Mukit Ahmed, who is now one of the owner of CHAP GHOR, used to do a 5 to 9 job like
any other. He wasn't happy with his job, moreover he didn't like to work under someone else’s
order. He was passionate to have something of his own, to start something of his own. He found
similar interest in his friends who also wanted the same, to have something their own. So they
took the initiative of bringing street food to a family-friendly environment where people won't
have to stand on a road-side to enjoy street food, which is less hygienic. Starting from one spot,
now they extended their business in 2 more different places and 1of them is run by Mr. Mukit
Ahmed. Having a business of his own gave him the freedom and to to do things however he
wanted. It ables him to pursue his passion of owning something and being the one in charge, not
having to follow orders.
Do what you love...
To be able to be a good entrepreneur, you HAVE TO love what you do. If you don't love what
you do, you can not be a successful entrepreneur. And you also have to have alternatives, it can
be ideas, goals, plans for any given situation. Proper goal setting is crucial in entrepreneurship.
You can't just set a goal which is at a level of well established big companies, you have to start
from the very bottom. Set small goals and work your way up the ladder.
Doing things i never did before...
Mr. Mukit Ahmed belonged to an upper class family. He was his parents beloved and never really
had to do any household works ever in his life. But when he started his own business, he had to
do things he never had done before, he cleaned tables, took orders from customers, washed
plates, even cleaned the restaurant. He wanted to minimize staff cost as at first he couldn't afford
them. He had to spend hours in the kitchen to make sure that the quality of food met his
expectations. Mr. Mukit Ahmed said, "Sometimes you have to do things that you always
neglected and thought belittle of, but when it is for something of that you own, it feels good". He
didn't hesitate to do the things he had to. Because he was passionate, he did it knowing that it's
for something that he owns.
500 customers in one day...
On December 31, 2019, that night they worked tirelessly till 3 a.m in the morning, as they served
500 customers in a single day. For them it was an unbelievable night and they had fun serving
even when they were tired, even the staff's were enjoying it. No other restaurants were allowed to
stay open for that late at night, but when the police arrived, amazingly the customers came
upfront to support them as the police were trying to close the restaurant for the night. Mr. Mukit
Ahmed was amazed and overwhelmed with the loyalty of customers.
From 15 competitors to 1...
After 6 months of their first/main branch, seeing their success, 15 competitors stepped into the
market. 15 new competitors in a single road, including 1 right opposite of them. But, by the end
of 6 months only 1 competitor survived, others left the market occurring loss and failing to
compete with CHAP GHOR. Even that 1 competitor is barely surviving now. The one that was
opposite of CHAP GHOR, had almost no customers, as a result Mr. Mukit Ahmed and his friends
themselves went their to be their customers. CHAP GHOR was booming, foodbloggers
reviewing their food, reviews in top food groups such as Foodbloggers and Foodbank.
Considering all the efforts done by Mr. Mukit Ahmed and his friends, they achieved success.
