The first event, a large press conference
at the Hotel Camino Real in Mexico City,
was set up by Sergio Lan (Executive
Director of the Org de Dianetica in Mexico
City) and covered by 4 major newspapers
and national TV. Wilfredo Prieto trans-
lated, and leading Scientologists Armando
Prieto (Executive Director Scientology
Org Mexico), Miguel Catano (Executive
Narconon Mexico), David Zetune (Execu-
tive Director Scientology Center), Fraji-
cisco Ponton (Narconon Supervisor),
Nissem Noscona (Distribution Secretary
Scientology Center), Antonio Hernandez
(Public Relations Officer) were all there.
A three page interview with Yvonne
came out in "Kena," a major magazine,
while the tour was in Mexico. Quotes
from L. Ron Hubbard were printed in
their "thoughts for the day" column.
An article on Applied Scholastics will be
in next issue.
An interview was done for "La Nueva
Vida," another major magazine, and the
interviewer left very enthusiastic about
Dianetics and L. Ron Hubbard's Study
Tech.
Daily national TV news coverage
followed the tour throughout their 10 day
stay in Mexico.
A 13 week series was set up on Channel
11 about Dianetics and the Study Tech.
Yvonne, Sergio Lan, Antonio Her-
nandez and Miguel Catano appeared on
the Manola Fabrica Show (Mexico's equi-
valent of the U.S. Johnny Carson talk
show) and the station later expressed

over the air from L. Ron Hubbard's
"Original Thesis" and "Problems of
Work."
Top Level Government Meetings
In Tampico, 2nd most important port
in Mexico, the Mayor gave his full support
to the Dianetic programs presented for
his city. There were two 20 minute TV
shows there and a big event at the Rotary
Club, which plans to have 6 Rotarians
trained as course supervisors for the pro-
grams. The TV interviewer in Tampico
was so interested she has gotten 48
people together to take the Communica-
tions Course.
The Mayor of Tlalnepantla, 2nd larg-
est industrial city in Mexico, completely
embraced the programs and called a meet-
ing of city leaders to announce the pro-
grams were to start immediately through-
out his city! Ziggy Nates, top engineer in
Mexico, joined the other Scientologists at
these meetings with the Mayor.
The same thing happened in Iguala.
Acapulco's Mayor presented the keys
to his city to Yvonne for L. Ron Hubbard,
and than accepted the Narconon program.
Eugenio Castillo, Mexican Scientolo-
gist (now in L.A. for training) arranged a
meeting for the town with the Secretary
of Gobernacion (next to the President),
who was very excited about the Narconon
program.
Education
Fernando Mena, former professor of
the National Polytech Educational Insti-
tute (now of Mexico Scientology Center),
arranged a meeting for Yvonne with the
Director of Economics at the Institute,
who received the Study Tech program
with great interest. He plans to visit the
Org de Dianetica to see tech in action
and put professors on course as a pilot.
Yvonne, Armando Prieto, Antonio
Hernandez and Felipe Dorre met with the
Public Relations Officer for the Secretary
of Education for all Mexico. He is now
very interested in the Study Tech (wants
to take the Student Hat Course himself) On a TV news broadcast in Mexico, Yvonne Jentzsch (Class VIII Auditor, Graduate of the Public
Relations Course and Flag Executive Briefing Course) tells how L. Ron Hubbard's tech is applied to

Premieres in the U.S.
Ron's exciting new sound bursts onto L.A. music scene
The exciting strains of L. Ron Hubbard's new music
soared out into California's night air for the first time at
11:00p.m. July 17, 1974.
This official premiere for Scientologists of Ron's
POWER OF SOURCE record album was given over a
superb sound system in front of Celebrity Center on Los
Angeles' 8th Street.
The 250 Scientologists gathered there were among the
first in the U.S. to experience the pure energy of this
new sound. It was an electric moment—a musical an-
nouncement to the future, as clear and bold as a trumpet:
"We're going UP!"
Ron calls Power of Source a "barbaric symphony";
one of its reviewers described it as "a controlled explo-
sion of sound."
Selections on the album range from Gershwin's
Summertime and folk song When Johnny Comes March-
ing Home to three original jazz compositions: We're
Moving In, My Dear Portugal, and the dynamic title
piece, The Power of Source.
How Ron Created the New Sound
In Science of Survival, written in 1951, Ron said "A
culture is as great as its dreams and its dreams are dream-
ed by artists."
In addition to spiritual research this year, Ron col-
lected traditional and contemporary music from coun-
tries all over the world. After thorough analysis, he dis-
covered a way to weave modern musical concepts with
primitive tribal rhythms and tonal scales. The result is a
musical expression of a freedom so basic it transcends
present musical trends. Its penetrating rhythms create a
feeling of unity modern man has long forgotten.
Story of the Apollo Stars
In December of 1973, Ron assembled a group of
musicians from the Flagship crew to represent Flag in a
local concert. From that point, Ron began to personally
supervise tapes of their music.
Within weeks, they became celebrities of the country
and performed in parks, theaters, parades. Ron named
them the Apollo Stars. In specially designed suits,
studded with gold stars, they responded to demands for
more concerts.
Then, in March, 1974, Ron developed new motions
in dance to give visual impact to the sound and created
the Apollo Star Dancers to join the Stars.
Audiences Respond
At a recent performance fn Europe, the audience
climbed out of their seats, formed hand-in-hand chains
which wove up the aisles, raced through the balconies,
ran in and out of the theatre, dancing and making circles
with the Apollo Star Dancers! Others threw flowers and
stormed the stage to get close to the performers. About
100 Flagship crew quickly made a chain in front of the
stage to keep the crowd from mobbing the band.
The Apollo Troupe (Stars and Star Dancers) stole the
show in a parade soon after with Ron's new sound and
motion. Spectators flooded the streets around their float,
dancing and cheering amidst streamers, confetti and
flowers.
Ron Expands the Music's Reach
As the Troupe created these incredible impacts on
whole countries, L. Ron Hubbard worked even more
closely with them. Out on the open air decks of The
Apollo, with a tremendous speed of particle flow he
created an entire new repertoire of 12 songs in one
night.
To further the reach of the New Sound, Ron person-
ally recorded the Stars on their new album "Power of
Source" using specially built equipment. The resulting
duplication of the Stars live sound was so perfect it
astounded first local professionals and then those in the
U.S. when the album was pressed.
The Apollo Troupe's renown is spreading fast. One
week after the ship's arrival in a new country, the Troupe
hit the press and radio and was featured in cinema

shorts played in theaters across the country. Within days
they were doing command performances.
Who's Who in the Apollo Stars
LUTEN TAYLOR, bass trombone, played with
Woody Herman behind Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick
and others. BILL POTTER, tenor sax, played with
Matt Benton (Stan Kenton Orchestra), Jim Maxwell
(Glen Miller Orchestra) and T'Shura Stav, internationally
known Isreali singer. CHARLES RUSH, drums, played
with Amanda Ambrose and Charlie Musselwhite. TOM
RODRIGUEZ, bongos/composer, played back-up for
Latin America's best known artists such as Lisette
Alvarez, Chucho Avellanet (the "Frank Sinatra" of
Puerto Rico), and Latin guitarist Carlos Garcia. CRAIG
FERREIRA, lead guitar, played with John Lee Hooker,
Rick Kellog, Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks, and Chick
Corea. TAMIA ARBUCKLE, bass/rhythm guitar, is one
of the most highly respected Japanese popular musicians.
(He received more than 200,000 fan letters two years
ago in Japan.) RUSS MEADOWS, Class VIII Auditor,
rhythm guitar/flute/bass, played professional country
western since he was 12. KENNY CAMPLEMAN, flute,
plays his first professional engagement with the Stars.
New Sound on its Way
The Stars are on their way—already in European con-
certs they bring Ron's new sound to a weekly attendance
of more 29,000 people.
With POWER OF SOURCE playing in the U.S. now,
they're headed for the top in this part of the world too.
KBCA, the Los Angeles jazz station, has already played
part of the album and other radio stations are starting to
pick it up across the country.

New Milepost at 74
Originally from Belgium, CAMILIE DENHOIME at 74 is
now a resident of Vancouver. Nearly 40 years a schoolteacher,
today she is almost a Class VI Auditor.
Here is her success story:
"When I came into Scientology 1 had been retired for 3 years.
A friend had just come back from Saint Hill and said'we're going
to a lecture this afternoon, would you like to come' so I went.
I knew right away that this was what I had been looking for.
I had been fishing around in philosophies and never found any
answers to anything.
At that time I felt 'oh dear, I'm 68 and I'd better get moving
fast.' And in 6 months I was Clear.
When I started, somebody asked me what Scientology did for
me and I laughingly said it's given 'retired' a new meaning-when
you retire you're supposed to be very quiet and stay home. And
to me, retired came to mean having been given a new set of tires
so I could really move and that's exactly what it's done! I have
much more energy. I'm going all the time, I never stop. I average
5 or 6 hours of sleep a night at most. If I go to bed before mid-
night I'm awake at 3:30!
I'd been wanting to do the Briefing Course but it never
seemed to be the right time. Then last March I decided I couldn't
afford to wait any longer if I was going to do it this year.
All the way up the processing side, I realized something was
happening and I knew I was a very different person—but I didn't
have any understanding of the what or why. When you listen to
the Briefing Course tapes and follow what Ron has been doing,
what he's talking about, you understand what is happening to
you.
Level V of the SHSBC is a new milepost in my life.
I have enjoyed every minute of it more than anything else I

How Saint Hill
Training
First Began
That Scientology
worked was a long-
established fact in
1960. That it was
growing rapidly was
clear. Unless many more top class auditors and
instructors were trained, the expansion would
jam around only a few trained people.
The most successful, able, effective Sciento-
logists were those L. Ron Hubbard trained per-
sonally. Before Saint Hill training, Ron had
given Advanced Clinical Courses (ACCs) of
lectures and personal auditing supervision 2 or
3 times a year around the world. Auditors were
proud to say which ACCs they had attended,
and rightly so. Each emerged from these courses
with that "extra something."
All students attended from start to end and
went through the ACC together. But because
learning rate varied from student to student, for
some it was that "little extra something" and
for others that "big extra something."
Ron decided it would be better if each
student had more individual instruction and
could go at his own pace. Then each student
could be learning all the time, and the supervisor
could easily find why any one student was

Today, students come from all over the Western Hemisphere for the
privilege of doing the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course at ASHO.
It has its own special schedule for full time students: Morning is for
theory-students cover more than 360 lectures by Ron on tape, and
all Scientology bulletins and books. Early afternoons (like the day
pictured here) are for practical drilling. Later in the afternoon is
student auditing time, and evenings are worked out individually for
each student.
