It was in the last week of May that I received a message from my fellow batch-mate regarding a

small query about bank loan procedure. A week later she replied saying that her bank loan was
sanctioned. This gave me immense satisfaction. Why? Because, that day I discovered that helping
people in times of need is something that I thoroughly enjoy and feel responsible for the same. Since
then, I tried to get in touch with as many PGP1s; From Bank loans to filling enclosure forms to
procedure to get into official Facebook and Google groups and so on. We decided to host birthday
zoom calls to connect with as PGP1s and make them feel special. Taking a step forward, through this
application I file my nomination as a PGP1 representative to the Respected Student’s Affairs Council.

Not because, we do not have trust in SAC. We have always had and will continue to have. We also
understand that these are tough times and we must deal with it collectively as a cohort. I sincerely
apologise for any misconduct in the past and request you to pardon us for the same. I consider
myself fortunate enough to be able to apply to the apex student body so early in my PGPM program.

Some of the issues that PGP1s as per my knowledge are:

1. Online education: This umbrella includes

a. Attending to academic commitments i.e. regular classes, quizzes, exams etc.
b. Interaction with faculty members and college staff
c. Navigating IT and other infrastructural hurdles.
d. Academic operations and allied issues with courier and logistics
Proposed solution:
As per the orientation sessions till date, the institute administration has handled these
matters with utmost care and sensitivity. However, certain PGP1s still hesitate to
communicate with the institute directly. Taking their concerns via SAC to the institute
can be facilitated using common anonymous online forms and getting the institute’s
communication back to the students via a dedicated channel (say, Google groups) seems
possible at these times

2. Sense of Belonging within the cohort: Not one must be left behind
a. The SAC and the faculty have always mentioned that help shall be given to those
who ask. Taking this a step ahead, we wish to create a culture of “asking” and
thereby this shall bring the cohort closer than what it is today. Because, it cannot be
stressed enough that and “Sound body needs a sound mind”.
b. Conducting regular (fortnightly or monthly) sentiment analysis and feedback of the
batch via anonymous forms to gauge the overall vibe can be a way out.

3. Campus experience and participation:

a. We need not iterate the importance of campus experience and participation in an
MBA program. The SAC and the PGP2s are doing a phenomenal job at this. However,
the PGP1s might not be fully aware of this hence lack of participation. Regular
information circulation via Sectional representatives and delegating them the
responsibility to ensure maximum participation via PGP1 representative seems a
viable solution.
