Ventilate area of leak or spill. Keep unnecessary and unprotected people away from area of spill. Wear appropriate
personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Contain and recover liquid when possible. Do not flush
caustic residues to the sewer. Residues from spills can be diluted with water, neutralized with dilute acid such as
acetic, hydrochloric or sulfuric. Absorb neutralized caustic residue on clay, vermiculite or other inert substance and
package in a suitable container for disposal.
US Regulations (CERCLA) require reporting spills and releases to soil, water and air in excess of reportable
quantities. The toll free number for the US Coast Guard National Response Center is (800) 424-8802.

Autoignition temperature:
Water solubility: negligible
Stability
Stable. Flammable. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
Leak and Spill Procedure: Restrict access to area of spill.
Ventilate area. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Cleanup
personnel must be thoroughly trained in the hazards of the
product and must wear protective equipment and clothing
sufficient to prevent inhalation of mists or vapours and contact with skin and eyes. Do not touch spilled material.
Dike
spills. Prevent from entering sewers or waterways. Collect
on inert absorbent material and transfer to suitable, labelled,
covered containers for recovery or disposal. Contaminated
material may pose the same hazards as the chemical; treat
with caution. Flush area of spill

HEXANOL
General
Physical data
Stability
Stable. Incompatible with oxidizing agents, chlorine, fluorine, magnesium perchlorate. Highly
flammable. Readily forms explosive mixtures with air. Note low flash point.
Section 6: Accidental Release Measures
Small Spill: Absorb with an inert material and put the spilled material in an appropriate waste disposal.
Large Spill:
Flammable liquid, insoluble in water. Keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of ignition. Stop leak if
without risk.
Absorb with DRY earth, sand or other non-combustible material. Do not get water inside container. Do not touch
spilled
material. Prevent entry into sewers, basements or confined areas; dike if needed. Call for assistance on disposal.
Be careful
that the product is not present at a concentration level above TLV. Check TLV on the MSDS and with local
authorities.

Section 6 Accidental Release Measures
Eliminate Ignition Sources. Absorb with vermiculite or other inert material. Place in container. If fire hazard
exists, blanket spill with alcohol foam or use water spray to disperse vapors.
ALUMINA
Section 6: Accidental Release Measures
Small Spill:
Use appropriate tools to put the spilled solid in a convenient waste disposal container. Finish cleaning by spreading
water on
the contaminated surface and dispose of according to local and regional authority requirements.
Large Spill:
Use a shovel to put the material into a convenient waste disposal container. Finish cleaning by spreading water on
the
contaminated surface and allow to evacuate through the sanitary system. Be careful that the product is not
present at a
concentration level above TLV. Check TLV on the MSDS and with local authorities. Section 9: Physical and Chemical
