1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Pagasu Tawan is a company that designs and manufactures innovated products


that provide our customers more than one uses in one product. We also emphasize
Kadazan’s heritages, such as their famous tribal pattern, on our products to make
aware of the importance of them towards the public. Pagasu Tawan not only
develops the production line, but supports it with advertising and promotion
campaigns. The company plans to strengthen its partnership with retailers by
developing brand awareness. It intends to market its line as an alternative to existing
products in the market, and differentiate itself by marketing strategies,
exclusiveness, and high brand awareness.

Our company just launched our second product on October 2017, which goes by
the name Duo-Olumis Cup. It is a combination of a bowl and a cup, thus, helping us
in decreasing the number of items to be carried when we are going somewhere. It is
covered with bamboo print to symbolizes Kadazan’s well known weapon. We also
provide Kadazan’s traditional food, Ottokon, in the upper compartment, meanwhile,
the lower one is filled with drink. But, they are available only for when you buy ut for
the first time. When one buys our product, they do not only get to experience the
benefits of using the multipurpose product, but they also can learn more about
Kadazan’s culture at the same time thus, it is a win-win situation for both the
company and the customers.

The key message associated with the Pagasu Tawan Company is classy,
upscale, versatile, and beneficial.
2.0 INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY

2 .1 Company Background

The company’s name is Pagasu Tawan, which means Shooting to the


Sky. It is inspired by our big dreams and goals that we set up high above and
we are aiming to be better and better by the time passes until we reach the
peak as high as we could. Meanwhile, our motto is ‘We are Komoyon’, where
komoyon here means valuable. As we can see, most Malaysians tend to put
their focus on Peninsular Malaysia only, as if they have forgotten the values
and preciousness of Sabah and Sarawak heritages that we are supposed to
protect and preserve.

The mission of the company is to produce creative products that is not


only beautifully designed, but also provides customers several usages in one
product. Next, we also want our customers to live easier lives when they are
using our products as they are user friendly and useful in our daily life.
Besides, Pagasu Tawan’s goods emphasizes the features of Kadazan so that
people will appreciate the beautifulness of their heritages more in the future.

Our company is located at Shah Alam as it is one of the busiest cities in


Malaysia and its surrounding are full of resources. This would help in gaining
more attraction and recognition from other people, which will lead to
increasing the amount of our customers, and will then resulted us in
increasing of the company’s profit. Shah Alam is also famous for their
numerous plastic factories. We will partner up with Teck See Plastics Sdn.
Bhd. that will supply us our plastic-made products. This would make our
production becomes smoother and easier to be handled. The quality of our
product can also be maintained. Our company was registered on 22
September 2017 and started to operate on 22 October 2017.

We are also collaborating with a famous company, Tupperware, since it


is a company with similar business background as ours. Tupperware is well
known for their home products line that includes preparation, storage and
serving products for the kitchen and home. It is beneficial for us because we
can learn on how to improve and make better of our business strategy.
Besides that, customers’ trust can simply be earned if we collaborate with a
popular company that sells high quality goods.
2.2 Business Intent & Clear indication of Intended Business Activities.

 Product or Services Offered

Our product is a 2-in-1 cup, where the uses of a bowl and a cup are
combined into one product. The cup has two compartments. The lower
compartment is used to fill in the drink, while the upper one is for the
food. To display kadazan’s characteristic, we chose to make our 2-in1
cup to have a bamboo-printed design.

 Market Need

These kinds of products are not widely commercialized in all parts


of world since many people get skeptical when things change. Only
small groups of people got exposed to innovated products.
Multipurpose products are much needed, given their more benefits
provided compared to a product that has one usage, because they can
make our lives easier. We do not have to buy many things in order to
get many advantages in our daily lives.

2.3.1 Financial Strategies

The company is seeking a substantial long-term business loan for


the purpose of developing our products. We are currently funded by
MICET to start off our platform of business company. This funding will
cover operating expenses and product development leading to the
launch in October 2017.

 To develop smart partnership with Teck See Plastics Sdn. Bhd.


to ensure the smoothness of our productions and to maintain the
quality of them in order for us to satisfy our customers always.

 To invest consistently in potential experts, Tupperware


Company, that act as our mentor in this industry world. By doing
this, we can grow our company in no time while we grow to be
better entrepreneurs.
 To extend into developing more innovated products in the future
as they are beneficial compared to already-in-market products.

2.3.3 Marketing Strategies to increase market or mind share.

In order for us to introduce our product to the public, we have


decided to print out brochures and promoting our company through
bunting. By doing this, people can read the brief description regarding
our company and getting to know a little about our good. But, we will
leave out some information in hope that it will spark some curiosity in
them, which will lead them to want to know more about us.

2.4 Target Markets

The company plans to target people from all range of ages, no


matter children, teens or adults. But, our main target are those who are
students or workers because they tend to want things that are multi-
purpose and also looks unique l.

They can bring the 2-in-cup to their school or workplace without


having too much items to carry in their hands. Besides, it is affordable,
which means that our product is suitable to be sold to everyone,
including students. It costs RM 5 per cup, food and beverage included.
The Kadazan-inspired design can encourage them to learn more about
Sabah’s heritages.

The 2-in-1 cup also might attract mothers. They can use our product
when they want to have some family time. For an instance, if they want
to have a picnic together, the items required to be used is lesser. Food
and beverages can be stored in one cup for each person instead of
bringing many containers and jugs to the picnic destination. Let’s not
forget that our item is also reusable.

Use our profit we gained from our previous product. Since our first
product that we launched on August 2017 got sambutan hangat, our
company’s profit has tripled surprisingly. Because of our achievement,
Tupperware has found interest to invest on our second product, which lead us
to be well prepared in money perspective.

In 10 years, we imagined our company to have numerous
innovation of products with a huge number of regular customers. We
would like to have more branches in Malaysia and a few in neighboring
countries such as Indonesia, Brunei and Australia. This would make
our third mission to become a reality. People, not only in Malaysia but
also from other countries, will be exposed to Kadazan’s culture and
heritages, which will result with them appreciating the heritages’
preciousness. They will no longer take them for granted as we can see
in our current generation.

Competitors are more experienced in business industry and have more


knowledge in this field. They also have trust earned by their customers from
the day they were built. For an example, AppleLady.
