Governments, have the responsibility to decide whether to invest, in order for the
country/state to be successful, and it would be a decision for all the nation. There has been
a discussion about which would be better to be fund by the government: either on scientific
research or commercial institutions.
Scientific investigation. The government sponsors scientific research that supports the
government agency mission or goal (collaboratively with U.S. Business where potential) ,
including the aim of producing basic knowledge. Research is conducted or subcontracted at
specified programs. This mixture of long-term standard research, applied near-term
research, and deployment facilitation activities must always be balanced to accomplish
government targets. The amount of benefits to invest in technology, research or anything
that can, not only help the nation, but humanity, means a lot of benefits. For instance,
science isn’t just the study of a plant, as it is seen most of the times, but science can give an
entire population a more plenty life. It takes into account new medical searches, cures,
vaccines (mostly in these times), also a research of how the nation should protect their
patrimony, bearing in mind all the welfares that it will bring.
But its not the only thing the government should focus on, there should be a balance. The
most significant ways in which the Government will support business research are to
increase the flow of current technological knowledge through help of essential research,
and to assist in this development of scientific talent. Additionally, ways should be seen to
have the benefits of fundamental research to achieve industries which do not immediately
apply current technological knowledge. Creativity increasingly relies on technological
knowledge. Investigation to make this knowledge has historically been funded by both
business and government. Although business and administration research expenditure were
comparatively equal in 1980 in the United States. However, despite the increase in business
spending, firms seem to be pursuing—or at least publishing—less standard science. If
corporations are doing less fundamental research, so where do they get these ideas to fuel
their creativity?
