Background:
The Humber Indigenous Transmedia Fellowship is a unique collaborative program that gathers
a multidisciplinary team of students every summer, under the tutelage of two staff producers
to explore storytelling and utilize their talents in digital media, technology, design and
development to work on a creative and innovative digital storytelling project.

The 2020 Indigenous Transmedia Fellowship is open to all; however, preference will be given to
those who self-identify as Indigenous, and creatively mentored by Sage Petahtegoose.

Intern Details: 12 weeks – (Flexibility around schedule)


Starts: September 14 ends December 4 (with possibility of extension)
Hours per week: 24 hours per week
Rate per hour: $15.60 per hour
Office Location: Remotely
Reports to: Event Coordinator, Lakeshore Campus and Humber Galleries

Main Responsibilities:
Digital Communications / Virtual Event Planner

· Familiarity with the Indigenous Transmedia Fellowship including each of the 2020
fellows, creative mentor Sage Petahtegoose and the resulting project of the program.
· In collaboration with Humber Galleries curatorial staff and the Humber Lakeshore
Campus Event Coordinator, plan a celebratory event for the Indigenous Transmedia
Fellowship for the purpose of discoverability and dissemination of the completed
project.
· Developing the critical path and play of day documents for the event
· Using social media and other tools, develop awareness of the Indigenous Transmedia
Fellowship and the resulting project.
· Support event day operations
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Must be a Canadian resident or permanent resident and be between 15 – 30 years of age


(inclusive) at the start of employment (as per Canada Summer Jobs requirement)
· Experience in Event Management, Public Relations or Arts Administration
· Knowledge about Indigenous cultures, perspectives, histories, contemporary experiences, and
artistic expressions, along with experience engaging Indigenous peoples and communities is an
asset
· Computer savvy able to use software and programs including Microsoft Office Suite and the
Google Platform, Project Management web apps such as Asana, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
and managers such as Buffer, Hootsuite etc.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with partnership organizations,
participating artists, volunteers and the public
· Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment;
flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information, knowledge of correct protocol
for specific situations
· Good time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
· An independent worker who can multi-task and juggle a variety of duties
· Experience working remotely
· Valid driver license (and access to a vehicle) is an asset
