Ans – Rita was collecting flowers while Frank was sitting by the stream with his
fishing rod.

Ans – Rita saw a group of fish speaking eagerly to one another.
3. What were the little voices that Rita heard?
Ans – The little voices that Rita heard were that of the little fish talking to one
another.
4. Why did Rita not call out to the little fish?
Ans – Rita did not call out to the little fish because she was not sure whether they
could hear her.
5. Why had Frank to sit still for a long time?
Ans – Frank had to sit still for a long time in order to keep the bait undisturbed so
that a fish could come and eat it.
6. Why did Frank call out to Rita?
Ans – Frank called out to Rita because he thought he had got a splendid catch
which had made the line heavy and difficult to pull it.

2. Ans – Frank had been sitting still for a long time in order to catch fish. When he
thought he had caught one, the fish managed to escape. So Rita felt sorry for
Frank.

Ans – Rita laughed heartily when she saw Frank falling on the grass with a big
thump and the fishing rod flying out of his hand.
