ANIMALS IN DANGER

Nature works as a harmonious whole. That’s why someone alteration in one of

its components, affects the ecological balance. The extinction of animal species
or the decrease in their numbers, causes a drastic variation in the amount of
other species belonging to the flora and fauna. In efect this fact produces
among them a competitive relationship that leads to the disappearance of some
species, the increase of others and, consequently, the break of the delicate
balance of nature.

SOURCES OF DANGER:

 Oil spills

The birds stay on the beach to not hurt even more and they die of cold or
hunger. That is to say the oil is impregnated in the feathers and end up dying
of hypothermia. Other species that suffer the effect are the ones that live in the
superficial part of the sea like the turtles, dolphins and whales that have to
surface to breathe. When they come in contact with this spill they may suffer
from airway seals.

If the penguin is covered by oil or a derivative, its plumage is affected and loses
the impermeability that isolates it from the cold environment and begins to lose
temperature. Being cold gets less and less to dig for food.

 Melting of poles

The mass of the ice has been reduced 55 percent of the average of the 80's
and 90 in the opinion of some experts the melting of the Arctic will quickly lead
to the extinction of the white bear if the man does not take action on the matter.

Ice from these areas is melting, forcing the bear to retreat to dry land without
having completed its fat stores that lose during the summer and fall so critically
that it affects the ability of females to become pregnant.

 Noise pollution

Larger birds are most affected by noise in cities. As a result of this, noise
seems to force some species to abandon favorable habitats because they can
not communicate
The fish, great victims of the noise pollution. As a matter of fact these animals
need a silent means to carry out their vital functions: to reproduce, establish
communication and even defend themselves from predators, so that need to
hear well and not be interrupted by not only annoying but also very harmful
noises.

 Water pollution

Another of the problems that affect to the fish, drastically, is the pollution of our
waters.

Fish from many of our rivers have disappeared due to industrial, urban or
agricultural pollution. The dumping of toxic substances produce all kinds of
harmful effects, can be a danger for the man himself when consuming water or
polluted fish.

Like people, pets are affected by environmental pollution due to the pollution of
dust particles, carbon monoxide and microorganisms that produce respiratory-
like diseases.
CONCLUSIONS

 The good of this world and its biodiversity falls on us so that it continues
to exist the next future generations also have that human responsibility
for the care of their planet and biodiversity of all.
 Man's action is causing damage and irreversible changes in the diversity
of life on earth.
 The loss of biodiversity is now occurring at a slower pace than would
have occurred without such measures.

SUGGESTIONS

 To my mind we must try not to forget this important responsibility and to

demand in some way the right before the governments for the protection
of this same one.
 In order to achieve further progress towards biodiversity conservation, it
will be necessary, but not sufficient, to intensify a series of actions
focused primarily on the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity
and ecosystem services.
 Finally we must combat pollution and climate change all measures to
prevent pollution contribute to endangered species
