DAT (Differential Aptitude Test) is a proven scientific test that

unveils the structure of a person’s inborn potential or natural
ability. DAT is an exploratory career mapping workshop where in

Students at high school level start thinking of
choosing a course of higher studies suitable
to their aptitude and interests. As they go
higher in class level, the subjects chosen for
study start narrowing to the discipline of
interest. But what subjects to choose and in
which disciplines do they have real
aptitude? Answers to these questions enable
them pursue appropriate courses and
careers.
For this, a scientific tool to map the
differential aptitudes of students would be
the most dependable method. Differential
Aptitude Test, or DAT for short, developed by
three psychologists by the Psychological
Corporation, New York is an effective and
time-tested psychometric tool and CIGI has
customised the evaluation process for the
Indian as well as Middle Eastern standards
after a few years of research and analysis.
The test would be conducted on January 28
and 29 for students from 8th to 12th standards.
Three experts in psychometric analysis from
CIGI from India will conduct these tests. CIGI
is an non-profit organization, closely work for
the d evelopment of School students, Parents
CIGI (Kuwait Chapter) in association with: CAMS
and Teachers. In the end of our program
each student will be given a transcript of
scores, as well as a other explanatory
materials. An Expert counsellor from CIGI
hold counselling of students in the presence
of their parents on the basis of the
assessments of the test to help them choose
most suitable educational career. The
differential aptitude tests (DAT) are the latest
genre of the career aptitude tests.
The DAT measures children’s aptitudes in
eight different areas: Verbal reasoning,
Numerical Ability, Abstract Reasoning,
Mechanical Reasoning, Space Relations
Spelling, Language Usage and Perceptual
Speed and Accuracy.
Students will have to undergo eight sets of
differential aptitude tests. They contain
multiple choice questionnaires. Students are
required to select the best/correct option
within a set time limit of 12 to 25 minutes for
each test.
Unlike other tests and examinations, students
do not have to make any preparations for
the DAT.
