Explanation
As for the explanation of the Brand Development Strategy it can be said that, the products are different in their own nature such as
Soap, Body Lotion, Shampoo, Petroleum Jelly, Olive Oil, etc. therefore the product categories are new, and as all the product
categories are called in the existing name of “Meril”, therefore Meril is the existing name which are used for the mentioned product
categories, which is best referred towards the Brand Extension Strategy.

Question # 2 – Rahimafrooz Batteries


Appropriate Strategy: Brand Sponsorship Strategy – Manufacturer’s Brand
Brand Development Strategy – Multi-brands Strategy
Explanation
Rahimafrooz was founded by Late A C Abdur Rahim, as a Bangladeshi brand. The products are manufactured by Rahimafrooz and
the brands are marketed, distributed and sold by their own channels in the local market. So, based on this, it can be said that
Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd. is the Manufacturer’s Brand for their different brands of batteries.
As for the explanation of the Brand Development Strategy it can be said that, the product category is existing as all the brands
mentioned are all batteries, but having new names for their unique product identities, therefore the different battery brands are said
to be having their new names. So, based on this, it can be said that Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd. is having Multi-brands Strategy
for their different brands of batteries.
