1. Please describe one project or research that you focused on since you joined University. Must include role you played,
difficulties, learnings and reflection. (About 500 words)
I have worked on two projects during my first two years at IIT Kharagpur but the one I was more passionate about is “Listen to this
KGP”. A group of my friends in college had this idea of building a Web Application for a very famous music sharing group of our
college by the same name. The app we built scrapes raw data from the Facebook group and modifies it to extract metadata from
SpotifyAPI. The app acts a client as well as a music player.
I have been attached to listening to music across different genres, since I was 7 years old. I still remember how I used to treasure
my collection of my own music playlist in my old Sony Walkman. I believe this passion of mine was a driving force behind the success
of our project. I used Flask, a Python library for creating backend and PostgreSQL for maintaining database. This project allowed me
to discover things on a production level which I was not familiar with, like building server using Nginx and how to dockerize a project
for ease of development and maintenance. I also got to learn a lot of things like Blueprints, Admin commands and how an API work
on a deeper level. A month of sleepless nights and tiresome days followed, which finally resulted in the launch of the beta version of
the app. I believe all these were a result of our teamwork, our dedication, our commitment, our willpower and finally the love we have
for music. This success also engraved in me a love for Open Source and an ability to fit in a team of people who can work together,
share ideas together, and create something wonderful together.

2. Please describe what you would like to contribute through the position you are applying in Sony, from the aspect of
knowledge/skills or experience. (About 500 words)
I would intend to provide Software-based solutions to industries revolving around the evolving fields of Technology, Gaming,
Entertainment and other services by utilizing the technologies and harnessing my ideas into a finished product. I believe I possess
enough potential to bring innovations to life through the exposure of advanced technologies and promising opportunities. My
competitors may possess a varied range of experience and knowledge, but at the core I believe that my Problem-Solving ability is
what makes me person versatile. To endeavor further at my journey, I keep looking for greater challenges and possibilities to hone
my skills and contribute the result for a better society. I believe SONY is the perfect platform where I dream to make my career,
a corporation which extends its reach around every aspect of human lives and affects them, whether it's entertainment, lifestyle,
technology or art. To conclude, I believe curiosity, innovation, and networking are my core strengths. I believe I would be a good fit
at SONY because of my ability to initiate and accomplish tasks and being a team player, and finally my passion for dedicating myself
to creating something extraordinary.
