1. Spoken Poetry is open to all students of Osias Educational Foundation Inc.
2. Registration shall be done on or before July 20, 2018 with a registration fee of P20. Consult any TOP staff to register. 3. The spoken poetry must be an original composition. It could be written in English or Filipino. The use of Taglish is not allowed. 4. Each contestant is given a maximum of 3-5 minutes to recite or deliver his piece. 5. The spoken poetry must be delivered from memory and any movement is confined onstage. 6. Sounds, instrumental or musical background is allowed to complement the delivery. It should be provided by the contestant before the contest proper. 7. The spoken poetry must be relevant to the theme, “Ugaliing magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin”. 8. The spoken poetry is held on July 30, 2018 at the school quadrangle during the culminating program. 9. The winning piece shall be published on the first issue of the school paper.
Criteria for Judging
Message/ Content -40%
The content of the spoken piece must be relevant to the theme. The piece has a powerful and meaningful message to the audience. Delivery and Performance -25% Established connection to the audience Emotion and facial expression Gestures and body movement Words must be pronounced clearly and distinctively Mastery -20% Freestyle and improvisation was spontaneous even if a word or a line is forgotten The piece was effectively recited from the memory Voice Variation and Projection -15% Compelling and phrasing is fluent 100% Modulated voice POETRY WRITING

Mechanics
1. Poetry Writing is open to all students of Osias Educational Foundation Inc.
2. The poem writing contest will be held on July 30, 2018 at Rm ______. 3. Registration shall be done on July 30, 2018 before the official start of the contest proper with a registration fee of P20 which will be added to the fund of the TOP High School Department to be used for publishing purposes. Consult the room assisting teachers to register. 4. Each entry will be identified through number codes which will be given upon registration. 5. The written poetry must be an original composition. It could be written in English. 6. Participants shall be provided a bond paper only. Pens and other writing materials shall be provided by the contestant. 7. Each contestant is given a maximum of 2 hours to write his piece. 8. The written poetry must be relevant to the theme, “Ugaliing magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin”. 9. There is no limit with regards to stanzas and words to be used. 10. No one is allowed to go out or enter the room while the contest is on-going. The use of cellular phones is prohibited. 11. Three winning pieces shall be published on the first issue of the school paper.
