 Description
GEL AIR BREATHER Water vapor absorbent - The silica
used in the Desiccant Breathers absorbs vapor to 40% of its
own weight.
DESICCANT BREATHER

l Water Vapor Adsorbent - The silica gel used absorbs

up to 40% to its own weight.

l Color Indicator - When maximum absorption is

reached the silica gel turns from orange to dark
green, indicating replacement is needed . The silica
gel used is chemically insert, non-corrosive, and
does not contain cobalt chloride, a heavy metal .the
color changing dye used is environmentally safe and
meets all health and safety requirement s.

l Activated Carbon - As air is expelled, it passé

through activated carbon which removes oil vapors,
fumes and odors .

l Durable construction - Desiccant Breather are

manufactured from rugged ABS plastic.

Technical Description

The adsorbent of the SB series permit the air flow

both for loading and for venting of hydraulic power units
and gearboxes . The peculiarity lies the combination of
desiccant and activated carbon . The desiccant silica gel
dehumidifies the air flowing in the system. The activated
carbon absorbs oil mist, exhaled from the system. In
addition, an integrated demister serves to collect oil and
particles before beings reintroduced into the system. The
components of the valves part are made PTFE resp.PP
where by frost resistance can be ensured . All versions of
the SB series have the same structure , regardless of
their size .

In order to minimize to the pressure differ , the absorber

of the SB series also be used without valves system.

DESICCANT BREATHER

During the breathing process, the incoming air may consist of moisture and dirt which
should be removed in order to prevent any damage. Hence the air is made to pass through the
silica gel breather, which will absorb the moisture in the air and ensures that only dry air enters in
to the transformer. Silica gel in the breather will be orange when installed and they turn to green
colour when they absorb moisture which indicates the crystals should be replaced. These
breathers also have an oil cup fitted with, so that the dust particles get settled in the cup. Thus
Silica gel breathers provide an economic and efficient means of controlling the level of moisture
entering the conservator tank during the breathing process.
