How to patch Adobe CC

2017 applications on
Windows
by user/Apodacaac
Introduction
* Much like my previous guide for Mac, this will take you through the steps to successfully patch
Adobe CC 2017 applications for your windows machine by patching the amtlib file. There are
two tools that you can use to accomplish this, I’ll cover the steps for both so pay attention for
which tool you choose to use.
* Feel free to share this guide around for others to see :)
* Please let me know what you think of the guide and give me some ways that it could be made
better
* This is for educational purposes only lol don’t come after me

STEP 1: DOWNLOADING THE ADOBE DESKTOP APP

Head on over to the link below to download the Adobe CC desktop

application. This is where we will be downloading the applications from.

https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/creative-cloud

You will need to have an Adobe ID made in order to log onto the app, if you have not made one yet
go ahead and create one, you don’t have to use your real email just make an account to log on the
one time.
STEP 2: DOWNLOADING THE ADOBE TRIALS

* Open up the Creative Cloud Desktop application that you just downloaded from the previous step
and go to the “Apps” tab from the top menu

* Scroll down and select “Try” on whichever application(s) you wish to download and patch

* Go through the installation process and select “Install as trial” if you are prompted; however, DO
NOT open it after you install it, this could make or break the process and you would have to
start over again

If you opened the application as soon as it installed and you see the “You have X Days remaining” upon launch,
make sure to kill all Creative Cloud-related services from your task manager
STEP 3A: PATCHING WITH AMTEMULATOR 0.9.2

This is for those who choose to patch with this tool, if you are using Universal Adobe Patcher, skip this step and
instead go to step 3B of this guide

* Download AMTEmu and make sure you run it as administrator

*Click on the drop down arrow in the top of the menu, this will bring up a list of apps. Chose the app (and
version) you are going to be patching. I will use Photoshop in my example.
*Once your application is selected, click on “Install” in the bottom right hand side of the AMT application

* A new File Explorer window should open up. We need to tell AMT what file to patch for the chosen adobe
program. Again, I am using Photoshop for this
example, you will change the directory
according to whatever app you're patching
(ex. if you’re patching Dreamweaver you’ll
go go C/ProgramFiles/Adobe/
Navigate to C:/ProgramFiles/Adobe/NameOfAdobeApp/

*Once you click on the app folder, select the “amtlib” file and click on “open” in the bottom right hand corner

Once you see “WORKING DONE” on AMTEmu, go to step 4 of this guide to finish up

STEP 3B: PATCHING WITH UNIVERSAL ADOBE PATCHER

This is for those who choose to patch with this tool, if you are using AMTEmu, skip this step and go to step 3A instead.

* Download Adobe Universal Patcher and make sure you run it as administrator

This is the
dropdown
arrow

* Click on the dropdown arrow and select the application you are going to patch (Again, I am using Photoshop
for this example, you change yours accordingly )

*Click on “Patch” after you have selected the application from the step above. It will begin patching and return
a message which should read “patching done”

When you see this, go onto the next step.

STEP 4: FINISHING UP

* Whichever tool you used to patch should lead you to either one of these two messages

With AMTEmu With Universal Patcher

* Your applications are now patched, restart your computer and you should now be able to open the app
without any problems

Enjoy
FINAL NOTES

• You do not need to keep the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app after you are done, you can delete it
and keep the apps you want, it should still work fine.

• If you want to update the apps later on down the road, do the following steps:
- Uninstall the old version of the app through the control panel
- Install the new version of the app through the Creative Cloud desktop app same as before
- Re-patch the trial with the updated version of either AMT or Universal Patcher

• If you go back to the Creative Cloud desktop app and go to the “Apps” tab, you will see that next to the
names of the apps there is a blue message that says “Start Trial” THIS IS NORMAL and won’t affect
anything

This is normal, it SHOULD look like

this.

• The way you know that the patch worked is if you got the message on the patching tool. Or, if you open
the adobe application and it goes straight to the main menu instead of displaying a popup notifying
you of the days of trial you have left. (See below)

If you see this when you launch the adobe app

you patched, it is not patched properly.
Uninstall the application and try again.
