Removing the radiator

Radiator

Removal
1 Dismantle recirculation shield above the
radiator. See the illustration for the location of
the bolts.

2 Remove the two sections of the shield from
the engine compartment.
3 Tilt the cab. Refer to subgroup 18-65, Cab
tilting.
4 Drain the coolant. See subgroup 02-00,
Cooling system assembly, cooling system.
5 Remove clamps for the charge air cooler
flexible hoses, see illustration.

6 Jack up the vehicle.


7 Remove the underrun protection beneath the
vehicle.

Removing the radiator

8 Detach coolant pipes on both sides of the fan.


Drain the coolant remaining in the cooling
system.

9 Remove the fan.
10 Remove the fan cover.
11 Detach hydraulic motor bracket from the
radiator. Tilt the bracket as far as possible.
12 Lower the vehicle.
13 Detach the expansion tank hose.

14 Remove bolts 1 for the AC condenser.

15 Undo bolts 2 and pull the brackets for the AC


condenser to one side.
16 Remove the bolts 3 for the oil cooler.
17 Undo the bolts 4 on the side of the oil cooler.
18 Tie up the oil cooler and AC condenser
together with the AC hoses.
19 Tilt up the cooling package.
20 Jack up the vehicle.

Removing the radiator

21 Remove the cooling package by undoing the


bolts on the oil cooler bracket as illustrated
and then remove the cooling package from
underneath the vehicle. Allow the cooling
package to rest on a wooden pallet under the
vehicle when the bolts are undone.

22 Dismantle the cooling package. The charge air
cooler is attached to the coolant radiator by
two bolts on each side.

Fitting the radiator

Fitting
1 Assemble the cooling package. The charge air
cooler is attached to the coolant radiator by
two bolts on each side.

2 Jack up the vehicle.
3 Refit the cooling package with the bolts on the
oil cooler bracket. Allow the cooling package
to rest on a wooden pallet under the vehicle
when fitting the cooling package.

4 Lower the vehicle.
5 Tilt down the cooling package.
6 Fit the AC condenser using bolts 1 and 2.

7 Fit the oil cooler using bolts 3.


8 Lock the cooling package in position using
bolts 4.
9 Fit the hose for the expansion tank.
10 Jack up the vehicle.
11 Fit the hydraulic motor bracket.

12 Fit the fan cover.


13 Fit the fan.
14 Fit coolant pipes on both sides of the fan from
below.

15 Fit the underrun protection under the vehicle.
16 Lower the vehicle.
17 Fit the clamps to the flexible hoses of the
charge air cooler.

18 Fill with coolant. See subgroup 02-00,


Cooling system assembly, cooling system.
19 Tilt the cab back. Refer to subgroup 18-65,
Cab tilting.
20 Fit the recirculation shield above the radiator
and screw together the two parts of the shield
with 5 bolts as illustrated.
