biodegradable chemical produced from renewable sources. This EcoTain® CLARIANT INTERNATIONAL LTD 2020
designation indicates that FLOTIGAM® 5806 contributes to sustainability
in mining.

APPLICATION
Direct flotation of iron minerals using the collector FLOTIGAM® 5806 can
be performed in the solids content range of 30 to 50%. Flotation pH should
be in the range of 4 to 8 depending on the characteristics of each ore.
Usually a more acidic pH favors selectivity but requires a higher
consumption of the collector.

FLOTIGAM® 5806 is insoluble in water and therefore saponification with

NaOH is recommended. Usually 15% of NaOH relative to the collector mass
in the solution is used.

DOSAGE
The usual dosage range for the product varies between 100 – 500 g/t being
influenced by the iron content in the feed. A prior evaluation in laboratory
trials is suggested to define the optimal dosage of the collector.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

When handling FLOTIGAM® 5806 gloves and goggles should be worn.
FLOTIGAM® 5806 should be stored in a dry, closed container in a cool and
ventilated place. It is recommended prior to use to heat the temperature to
around 45-50 °C in motion.

Final Provision: It must be incinerated in an appropriate incineration plant

by competent authorities.

MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY
Compatible with stainless steel packaging and corrosion resistant and
polyethylene packaging. According to our experience, materials made of
steel, pure aluminum, enamel and polytetrafluoroethylene (Hostaflon) are
resistant to this product. This should be considered when choosing the
material for pipes, dosing appliances and flow meters.
