Information Resource. Your use, distribution or installation of Compassion Information

Resources indicates your acceptance of this Agreement.

Acceptable Use Agreement

Responsible Group: Office of Risk Management

Affected Parties: Global Compassion personnel, volunteers, partners, and anyone using Compassion
Information Resources.

All individuals who access or use Compassion information resources are responsible for ensuring the
privacy and security of all information to which they are given access, including child and sponsor
information. This agreement applies to all users of Compassion’s information resources.

Individuals using the information resources of Compassion International must act in a responsible
manner, in compliance with the law and with ministry rules.

I understand and acknowledge the following:

Using Compassion Information Resources:

 I will access, use, and disclose Compassion information only as allowed by my ministry
activities and limit it to the minimum amount necessary to perform those activities.

 I understand that my access will be monitored to assure appropriate use.

Obey the Law:

 I will obey all relevant laws and ministry rules.

 I will not engage in any kind of violence, harassment, or intimidation against other users of
information resources.

Confidentiality of Information:

 I will maintain the confidentiality of all protected information to which I have access.

 I will protect access to accounts, and associated passwords.

o I will commit my password to memory or store it in a secure place;
o I will not share my password;
o I will not log on for others or allow others to log on for me;
o I will not use my password to provide access or look up information for others without
proper authority.
  I am accountable for all accesses made under my login and password, and any activities
associated with the use of my access privileges.

 I will only use my own credentials for my ministry activities in accessing Compassion
information resources.

 I understand that I am using my own account to access Compassion information resources.

 Compassion will never ask me for, or request information about, my password to my

account. This information is only ever entered during the login process through authorized
Compassion systems and authorizations systems (I.E . Facebook, Gmail, Microsoft, Twitter,
Yahoo).
Reporting Incidents:

 I will report all suspected security events and security incidents to Compassion staff.

Definitions:

Information Resources – Includes data in any form, software, and computing devices. This includes
but is not limited to:

 Networks and network appliances

 Computers (e.g. desktops, mobile devices, phones, and laptops)
 Printers
 Software and applications (e.g. Salesforce)
 Physical media – DVDs, Flash drives, paper, etc.
 Any other computer-related equipment used to access, store, or send data.

Information security incident – An information security incident is an event which is not part of the
standard operation of a resource. This event may disrupt or reduce the quality of services. It includes any
event that threatens the security of ministry resources.
