BEFORE READING THE ARTICLE, WHAT DID YOU KNOW ABOUT

COVID-19?
Coronavirus (COVID 19) is an infectious disease caused by a recently
discovered coronavirus, most people who become ill with COVID 19 experience
mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.
2. WHAT ARE THE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS YOU KNOW?
 Fiebre
 Cansancio
 Tos seca
3. HOW DOES COVID-19 ENTER A VULNERABLE CELL?
The virus enters the body through the nose, mouth or eyes, then attaches to cells
in the airways.
4. HOW DOES COVID-19 SPREAD INFECTION?
Each infected cell can release millions of copies of the virus before the cell
finally breaks down and dies.
The viruses may infect nearby cells, or end up in droplets that escape the lungs.
5. HOW DOES IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE?
Most Covid-19 infections cause a fever as the immune system fights to clear the
virus. In severe cases, the immune system can overreact and start attacking lung
cells. The lungs become obstructed with fluid and dying cells, making it difficult
to breathe. A small percentage of infections can lead to acute respiratory distress
syndrome, and possibly death.
6. HOW DOES COVID-19 LEAVE FROM THE BODY?
Coughing and sneezing can expel virus-laden droplets onto nearby people and
surfaces, where the virus can remain infectious for several hours to several days.
7. HOW THE FALSE INFORMATION IN SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT THIS
VIRUS AFFECT PEOPLE DECISIONS?
It makes people believe things that are not and the concern for this virus is born,
it is where people get alarmed by things that can sometimes psychologically sick
them.
8. LABEL EACH STEP OF THE CYCLE OF THIS VIRUS IN THE
PICTURE ACCORDING TO THE READING.

9. HOW DOES A FUTURE VACCINE WORK?

A future vaccine could help the body produce antibodies that target the SARS-
CoV-2 virus and prevent it from infecting human cells. The flu vaccine works in
a similar way, but antibodies generated from a flu vaccine do not protect against
coronavirus.
10. HOW DOES SOAP WORK AGAINST THE VIRUS?
Soap destroys the virus when the water-shunning tails of the soap molecules
wedge themselves into the lipid membrane and pry it apart. The best way to
avoid
getting infected with the coronavirus and other viruses is to wash your hands
with soap, avoid touching your face, keep your distance from sick people and
regularly
clean frequently used surfaces.
11. WHAT OTHER HYGIENE MEASURES CAN WE TAKE TO PREVENT
THE VIRUS?
 Wash your hands up to your forearm with soap and water for at least 20
seconds.
 When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a
disposable tissue or your forearm; never do it with your hands directly.
 Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth if you haven't washed your hands
first.
 Only if you don't have soap and water nearby, use antibacterial gel.
Please note that this should not replace hand washing.
 Avoid direct contact with people who show symptoms such as cold or
flu. Keep 1 meter of average distance.
 When you use toilet paper or disposable tissues, be sure to throw them
in the trash and wash your hands afterward.
 Wear surgical masks only if you must care for someone suspected of
infection, have a cough or sneeze, or need to leave home for any reason
allowed during mandatory social isolation.
