Reflective Report for Business Performance Management

I am here like to start my reflective report about Business Performance


Management for being given the opportunity to take part in this module in this
semester about 2 months full online class. This is because this subject was
completely different compare to my other modules to learning.

During the class, we have been given task to do group report about Performance
Measurement Dossier. Together our group have 4 members, me, Jack, Tammy and
Tan. Every member have they role in the group, Jack as a team leader to guide us
to done the group report. We as a team that have characteristics like plan and work
together on collective tasks and focus on team goals and outcome to complete the
group report.

During the class, we are learning about Belbin’s Theory test, it can help us to decide
our individual’s strengths and individual’s weaknesses, it will category into different
type role of the team members what you have to be in the group. The different role
of the team members are team worker, plant, shaper and others. After decide the
role of the team member, team was balanced and we are agreeing about this
decide. Every group members have their own role in this group report, me as a
team worker, Tan as shaper, Tammy is resource investigator and our group leader
Jack as the plant.

What is Belbin’s team role? Jane S. Prichard et Neville A. (1999) said that the
Belbin’s team role theory is talking about the effective way of developing forming
team, however there is not much support for the work here, this is because of the
lack research by team. However, they still acknowledge the fact to solve the problem
that it is using by many companies around the world to propose a team with a better
quality. Even though this is an initial stage to form a group, we are ready to
experience Tuckman’s ‘Lifecycle team’ in this stage. This will includes into the team.
At this moment, we are all look forward work together as a group.

Every team member in our team is got on and we have proved it during the group
report. If all of us put together but not get well, it will lower the standard of the
performance of the team.
From the group report, the information that I found for it is very useful for me for
the knowledge to more clearly about what is Business Performances Management.
What is having learnt about the lessons when I join in the group report is about
communication and research skills, then collaborative learning. Communication skills
is one of the part that play important role during discussion, what we have to is
speak and listen to all group members ideas and discuss it one by one. Next is about
the research skills, any questions that we need to solve, we will discuss it together
to find out problem and solve it. From this group report, collaborative learning also
need in the group because it involves about our willingness to interrelate with others
to share the knowledge and idea together.

Next time, if got any time to do a another group report again, I will try more
confident on it compare before and getting more better, about the quality of the
group report I think we will get more higher performance on it and we will identify
more about the problem that we maybe haven’t been improved yet. I have learnt
about the time management that how to manage the time when doing the group
report by the time given. Cannot be forget about is that the teamwork of every
group members is important too to perform a good group report. For my opinion, I
think that diversity brings strength a Strong team can take on more than 1 role
therefore do not need 9 in a team.
