Discussion:

In this Pedigree chart, the trait being traced is the hair type. As I traced the
trait for hair type in my family over the span of four (4) generations. Hair type has
three (3) possible traits: Curly hair type which is the dominant trait, straight hair
type is the recessive trait, while wavy hair type is the incomplete dominance of the
trait. As shown in the chart most curly hair type have been on my father’s side
(Manlangit) while most straight hair type have been on my mother’s side
(Arquiza). Since my father’s side has most of the curly hair type so it is likely that
most of my father’s sibling are carriers for the dominant trait. On my mother’s
side, as shown in the chart all of her siblings have straight hair, so likely they have
recessive trait. In contrast, since most of my father’s side carry the dominant trait
(curly) their offspring would either be curly or wavy. On the other hand most of
my mother’s sibling carry the recessive trait (straight) which make the hair type of
their offspring straight. In our family, I can say that my father is probably a
heterozygous curly and my mother is homozygous straight, since my siblings have
straight and curly hair.

Discussion

The trait that was traced on the diagram are the hair types of my family,
where Straight Hair is dominant, Curly hair is recessive and wavy hair is
incomplete dominance.
The right side of the diagram is my father's side. My grand father has a
wavy hair while my grand mother has a straight hair. They are the first generation
of my father's side of the family. My grand mother bore seven offsprings. Five
males and two females. The three males has dominant trait (straight hair) while the
other two has recessive trait (curly hair). The remaining two females both have
dominant traits (straight hair). Most of the second generation who has dominant
traits has produced offspring who has dominant traits as well and those two who
has recessive traits produced a combination of straight, curly and wavy hairs.
On the other side of the diagram is my mother's side of family. My other
grand father has dominant trait (straight hair) while my grand mother has
incomplete dominance trait (wavy hair) who bore 9 offspring. Five males and four
females. One out of the five males has incomplete dominance trait ( wavy hair) and
the rest has dominant trait (straight hair). Same as the four females, where one out
of the four females has incomplete dominance trait ( wavy hair) and the rest has
dominant trait (straight hair). The second generation who has dominant trait has
also produced offsprings that has dominant traits but some didn't. They produced
both combinations of dominant and recessive trait and some has incomplete
dominance.
