CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter contains the summary of findings obtained through the

conduct of this research. It also includes the conclusions and recommendations

formulated by the researcher, which were based on the gathered and analyzed

data.

Summary of Findings

1. The Profile of the Students.

a. Forty Six (46) respondents representing 56% of the total count

disclosed that the respondents were 17 years old.

b. Respondents who were male compromise a frequency count of

60 or 73% of the total responds

c. Forty (or 40%) were taking EIM strand of the total respondents.

2. The Benefits of Passing National Certificate II to the Grade 12

Students of Technical Vocational Livelihood in Bucal National High

School

The result of the assessment on the benefits of passing National

Certificate II to the Grade 12 of Technical Vocational Livelihood in Bucal

National High School, the highest weighted mean of 3.98 is obtained by the

indicator 15 that which states “Can be a basis to know the level of

competency.” with equivalent to the interpretation Agree. Moreover, the

indicator 2 which states that “Is an evidence for competency of the applicant”

obtained as weighted mean of 3.73 with is interpreted as Agree. the lowest

weighted mean of 3.37 was obtained by indicator 11 which state that “Is

essential for appraisal or reclassification.” With an interpretation of Neutral.

3. The significant relationship between the Benefits of Passing

National Certificate II (NCII) and the profile of the students.

a. In terms of the profile of the student’s age, the following f-value and p-value

obtained are f-value = 0.777and p-value = 0.777, respectively. Evidently, of the

profile of the student’s age is not significantly related to the Benefits of Passing

National Certificate II as evidenced by the p-value obtained which is greater

than the 0.05 level of significance.

b. In terms of profile of the student’s Gender, the following f-value and p-value

obtained are f-value = 1.277 and p-value = 0.216, respectively. Apparently, the

profile of the student’s Gender is not significantly related to the attitude towards

disaster preparedness as evidenced by the p-value obtained which is greater

than the 0.05 level of significance.

c. In terms of profile of the student’s Strand, the following f-value and p-value

obtained are f-value = 1.304 and p-value = 0.198, respectively. Seemingly,

exposure to television is not significantly related to the attitude towards disaster

preparedness as evidenced by the p-value obtained which is greater than the

0.05 level of significance.

Conclusions

1. The Profile of the Students.

a. Majority of the respondents are at age of 17 years old.

b. Almost half of the respondents are Male.

c. Most of the respondents are taking the strand of EIM.

2. Result of the assessment on the attitude of the student-respondents

towards disaster preparedness.

The result of the assessment on the benefits of passing National

Certificate II to the Grade 12 of Technical Vocational Livelihood in Bucal National

High School was equivalent to Agree, the highest weighted mean is obtained by

the indicator “Can be a basis to know the level of competency.” with equivalent to

the interpretation Agree, however the lowest weighted mean was obtained by

indicator “Is essential for appraisal or reclassification.” With an interpretation of

Neutral.

3. The significant relationship between the Benefits of Passing National

Certificate II (NCII) and the profile of the students.

a. The profile of the students in terms of Age is not significantly related

to the Benefits of Passing National Certificate II (NCII)

b. The profile of the students in terms of Gender is not significantly

related to the Benefits of Passing National Certificate II (NCII)

Recommendations

After conducting the study, the researcher can recommend the following:

 The student-respondents are recommended to exposed themselves in

learning and researching more about the Benefits of Passing the

National Certificate.

 The school can also intensify the promotion and encourage the students

to take National Certificate II

 The Local Government Unit should provide more reliable information for

the future researchers to come up with additional information and

recommendation.
