Introduction

This paper explores the convergence between homosexual experiences of parenting and the
everyday practices steered thereof, from early routes into parenting and household divisions of
labor, to mothering and fathering, social support, and exposures to various existing belief
systems. In the legal paradigm, with the decriminalization of section 377, the LGBTQ
community has gained strength to fight for their cause. Although a now thriving field, much
current research on lesbian and gay kinship still bypasses the significance of socioeconomic
status, which we bring to the table of discussion.

This paper tends to question that how homosexual parents put up with the heteronormative belief
of the society, i.e. a conception that heterosexuality is the default sexual orientation and only the
opposite sex are best fits for any sexual or marital relationships. It asks why the gays and lesbian
parents try to assert their ‘difference’ at times, but also on dominant occasions concerning
family, sexuality, race, and so on do they think it is important to blend into the societal
background. The paper mainly revolves around the counter-arguments against the people who
have a pessimistic view about homosexual parenting. The series will cover a range of topics
concerned with complications experienced by homosexuals in practicing parenthood. This
research will defy the arguments of gender role and kinship as a prerequisite of parenting and
will critically analyze the rights of homosexuals in India and the role of religion in acting as
circumvallation to it.

The concept of ‘family and intimate life’ will be interpreted broadly. While the focus of the
article will be sociological, we take family and intimacy as being inclusive rather than exclusive
to homosexual parenting.

Aim & Objective

The paper will cover mainly four topics, including, forms of homosexual parenting, homosexual
family practices and experiences, gender, kinship, homosexual parenting in India along with the
impact of race and religion on the domestic arrangements and family ties. We also wish to foster
comparative research, by arguing on the very famous research works done in this category. The
goal through this article is to stand vehemently for the cause of homosexual parenting.

Hypothesis

Parenthood is still not a desire for most of the homosexual couples in India.

Research Methodology

The researcher will do doctrinal type of research in which he will go through the primary as well
secondary sources. The researcher through this methodology will be able to get an apt picture of
the problem in question. The doctrinal method helps in doing a comparative study of the topic.
To satisfy the need of the project, the researcher will go through various works done by
researchers and scholars and new articles and essays to understand the premise in question. This
methodology will be the most effective way in preparing the project.
