This update to the MPS Service Plan adds the L5535. The L5535 uses the L5035 mechanics with a new
electronics system. This electronics upgrade includes a new power supply, new controller with flash
memory that allows the printer to be PRINTRONIX System Architecture (PSA™) software compatible with
the other Printronix printers, allows PrintNet option and offers a 15% to 20% improvement in performance in
certain applications that do not run at the rated speed of the L5035. The rated speed rem ains the same for
general operation. We offer an upgrade for the L5035 printers that can be ordered by your customers
through the sales channels. The upgrade consists of a new card enclosure (uniquely identified by it’s black
color -vs- the silver metal color of the standard L5035) that contains a new power supply, new back panel
and new controller. This upgrade gives the L5035 the same connectivity and software functionality as the
L5535.
The L5035/L5535 Multifunctional Page Printers combine both continuous forms and cut sheet operation, in
a single, high duty cycle printer. Printing speeds up to 35 ppm for 8.5 inch page length, which is
equivalent to 4.87 inches per second (ips) or 1750 lines/min [6 lines per 25.4 mm (1/6 in / line)] or 2327
lines/min [8 lines per 25.4 mm (1/8 in / line)]. Cut sheet stock in the Lower Cassette prints up to 27 ppm,
+/- 2%, for A4 paper size. The cut sheet stock in the Upper Cassette prints up to 23ppm and 15.3ppm,
+/- 2%, for A4 and A3 paper size, respectively. Paper type can be selected by software control or from the
printer’s control panel.
For exceptional, high durable print quality, the L5035/L5535 uses a unique fusing system, DuraFusion.
This system uses a dual-lamp flash fusing process which provides superior toner adhesion and print
quality. Also, the electrostatic transport system eliminates tenting to maintain high quality images even
near fold perforations.
Utilizing the PRINTRONIX System Architecture (PSA™), the emulation switching functionality in the
L5535 is the same as the P5000 series line matrix and the T5000 thermal printers. The L5535 uses
combo builds (several emulations) with various PGL/VGL/PCL5 combinations loaded at the same time.

VI. Warranty (applicable to U.S.):

This printer is warranted against defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of
ninety (90) days from the date of shipment to buyer.
The Printer and/or any constituent part thereof (Printronix manufactured only) determined by Authorized
Service Provider to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired provided the printer (a) has
proof of date shipped, (b) has been properly installed and maintained, and (c) has not been damaged,
subjected to misuse or abnormal operation or altered or improperly configured, installed or repaired by
unauthorized personnel or others in a manner which Authorized Service Provider reasonable determines
to have adversely affected performance or reliability.
Liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part. Repair or
replacement of the part thereof shall neither extend nor decrease the warranty period.
NOTE: Damage due to misuse, abuse or that caused by common carrier during transit is excluded
under this warranty.

Level 4 Spares: Service Replaceable Expendable - customer responsibility
Level 9 Spares: Customer responsibility, end-user replaceable consumable.
Note: The level 1 Spares provide 90% serviceability and combined with the level 2
Spares, the serviceability is 95%. Combine that with the level 3 Spares to provide complete
product field support.

XV. Site Requirements Document
Site Requirements
When selecting the location for the printer, consider the following power requirements, interface
requirements, and environmental factors:
1. A proper power source must be available. (Complete power requirements are

specified in the "Power Requirements" section on page 2-4.)
2. The location must be within the maximum cable length specifications for the host
computer interface.
3. The temperature range should be +50oF to +85o (0oC to 30oC), the humidity range 30
to 80%, with no sudden changes in temperature or humidity. The printer should be
positioned away from any air drafts from heating or air conditioning ducts.
4. The room should be at least 1,000 cubic feet in volume, with one air exchange every
two hours.
5. The location should provide enough space for maintenance and replacement of
consumables.
6. The printer should not be exposed to direct sunlight or hot lighting equipment. This
may cause an abnormal temperature rise in the printer and adversely affect its
operations. If necessary, shaded or screen the printer from such exposure.
7. Avoid exposing the printer to any corrosive gas es or vapors.
8. Avoid installing the printer in an area subject to heavy vibrations.
9. The slope of the floor should not exceed one degree.
Power Requirements
The printer must be connected to an acceptable AC power source; otherwise, the printer will not
operate properly and may be damaged. The rear side panel label identifies the correct power source
for the printer: either 200, 220 or 240 VAC, single phase, 50-60 Hz.
The power source must be properly grounded. Since large power fluctuations can cause the printer to
malfunction, it should be connected to a "noise-free" power source, not subject to surges or noise
generated by motors, lighting, or air conditioning equipment on the same circuit. To allow for an
adequate power cable run, the printer should be placed no more than eight feet (2.5 meters) from the
power source outlet. The power outlet should be rated for at least 30 amps service.
The mating connector for the printer power cord should be a NEMA L6-30 female connector, rated at
250 VAC and 30 am ps.

the installation price.
5. Time and Material (T&M) is $400.00 per visit with a two visit minimum plus the cost of parts. Payment method is credit card, and there is a 3 - 6 day lead-
