Council of Organizations of the Ateneo
Central Board Elections 2011-2012: Electoral Form

1) Inspiring SBC Members in Serving Their Sectors

Throughout the years in SBC, there have always been efforts on creating a community, not only within each
organization but among the organizations. This year, the SBC Friendship Hour was that main effort to create that
“SBC community”, and its objectives were to be a more accessible and a more sustainable activity. As the said
project is objectively successful, I would like to continue and develop the project further. During the SBC planning
seminars, I would like to plan ahead with the presidents the different activities that we will be doing and the schedule
of these sessions. This project is an opportunity for SBC members to mingle, and hopefully, this is the first step for
them to help each other in their respective projects and inspire each other with their own stories of volunteerism.

2) Empowering SBC Leaders in Guiding Their Organization

To further strengthen the SBC community, I also would like to continue the dialogue among the officers of the
organizations. Sharing of best practices not only widens the perspective of the leaders in the cluster, but it is also an
opportunity for the Cluster Head and Secretary-Treasurer to find out the specific needs of each organization.
Moreover, I will continue helping the presidents effectively coordinate their organizations’ schedules so that projects
will not interfere with one another. I will also have an individual consultation with the presidents at the middle of each
semester Lastly, if deemed needed and proper, I will coordinate with other clusters to help address the needs of the
organizations. For now, I plan to seek help from the business cluster in organizing a specialized marketing talk.

3) Influencing Ateneans to be Involved in SBC Affairs

This year, I would like Ateneans to be more involved with SBC by joining the organizations themselves or even just
participating in organizational activities open to non-members. I would like to continue the SBC Volunteerism Series,
and gear it towards the idea of “Giving Back”. In preparations of the said activity, I would like to setup a Creatives
Team dedicated to create a strong SBC image in collaboration with the ideas of the presidents. This SBC image will
be consistent in all of the SBC efforts, starting with the intensive promotions of SBC during the RecWeek. I would like
to help the organizations promote their orgs at the start of the year for RecWeek, and sustain these promotional
efforts for the SBC Volunteerism Series until the culminating activity by the end of the school year.

4) Spreading the Spirit of Volunteerism to the Larger Community

Throughout my three years of my stay in Ateneo Gabay, I have seen SBC grow by institutionalizing its systems and
pushing for awareness within the Ateneo student population. With this, I believe that SBC next year is prepared to
start expanding its network. I would like to have a core team working on a website and a newsletter with a strong
identity and effective contents. These will not only contain stories of the organizations, but it will also serve as a
promotional tool for the organizations’ external activities. For the promotions, I will seek help from the presidents to
reach the alumni of SBC. Moreover, personal emails will also be sent to the faculty, administration and the different
offices of the university. Hopefully, these emails will be forwarded to other people by those who will receive them.
