Site Specification: GUA 109 (Rua Sura)
Task/List of Activities

1. Refiling the Site.

 Collection of OBM (Outboard Motor) engine and Generator oil from Tasahe
(HON 101).
 Collection of fuel drums (2 x 44 Galloon diesel fuel drums) from Markwarth
Oil Limited, Point Cruz to refill the site.
 Refuel fuel containers from Point Cruz Fuel Station. Return to Yatch Club
(Point Cruz) to unload OBM, Fuel drums and load things for travelling in the
Company boat.
 Upon arrival, the fuel and oil level of the generator were checked; Fuel level is
satisfactory while the oil level is very low. The generator was turn off while
refueling the fuel and oil.
 After fueling, the generator fail to start.

2. Rectified the Generator, which fail to start.

 The batteries were checked if there are loose connection and the battery voltage
level recorded.
 Continuity test were perform on the entire fuse in the PowerWizard control
panel-using multimeter. Bad fuse were replaced with new ones.
 A backup battery was brought from the cabinet and connected in series with the
actual batteries in the generator to produce desire voltage to start of the
generator.

Skills Learned
There are few things I’ve to check apart from fuel and oil if the generator fail to start;
 Battery failure
a) Generator can’t start if there are loose connection or buildup of lead sulphate
crystals on the plate leading battery not being able to provide enough current.
b) Low voltage. Thus, the battery must have enough voltage to start the generator.
It is important to note the drop-off voltage reading of the battery at the instant
when you start the generator. If the drop-off voltage reading is below 10V,
then you need to replaced or a backup battery.
 Fuse failure
a) It is important to check the entire fuse in the PowerWizard control panel if it is
working by performed Continuity Test using Multimeter.

Status and Updates

 Generator was fueled and the fault rectified, site online as of 3:30pm.
