Minutes

1 Opening
Karin Anderson (KA) welcomed everyone to the webinar, and thanked them for giving their time to the project. The
aim for today’s webinar was to seek expert’s feedback before finalising the conceptual model and developing the
schema extension.

It was explained that there was over 300 persons registered for the webinar, distributed across 46 countries. This
demonstrated the global reach of this project and how important it is to maintain an international consensus.

KA explained that the other co-leader of the project Dr. Hyounseok Moon (HM) was delayed attending the webinar.
HM was due to provide the opening introduction.

KA briefly introduced buildingSMART and the IFC Road project.

2 Conceptual model
Lars Wickström (LW) presented an overview of the conceptual model report.

2.1 Conceptual Model timeline

The project has a strict timeline to deliver the finalised conceptual model. The Project wish to receive comments on
the draft conceptual model - as presented during this webinar - to be received by 2019.06.11 This is to ensure the
model can be discussed during the common schema workshop 2019.06.26-28. The finalised conceptual model is due
to be published on 2019.07.05

2.2 Review
The project request that experts review the material presented during the webinar and provide feedback no
later than 2019.06.11.
o Feedback is to be sent to: infrastructure@buildingsmart.org

3 Next steps
Johnny Jensen (JJ) will lead the work package compiling properties for the conceptual elements. This package is due
to be complete at the end of October. The project welcomes any input regarding properties from interested experts.

Juha Hyvärinen (JH) spoke briefly about the upcoming milestones for the IFC Road Project.

o Draft IFC schema extension for review: July.

o Expert Panel webinar on draft schema extension: late August

 o Final schema extension for IFC Road: late September

Štefan Jaud is leading the work package that deals with the prototypical implementation of the schema. The project
welcomes all those software vendors that are interested to participate.

4 Questions
The IFC Road panel answered several questions that were asked during the presentation. These have been recorded
in the questions log.

5 Summary and Closure

A follow up email will be sent early next week. This will include a detailed questionnaire on the draft conceptual
model developed by the project team, the official minutes, the webinar recording, and a log of all questions asked
during the webinar.
