TRADITIONAL MEDICINES
Acupuncture
It is a traditional Chinese medicine that
involves the insertion of very thin needles
through your skin at strategic points on your
body. It is most commonly used to treat pain.
Increasingly, it is being used for overall
wellness, including stress management.
Acupressure
It is also a traditional Chinese medicine bodywork
technique based on the principles of acupuncture.
Acupressure is the application of pressure rather than
needles on specific points on the body to control
symptoms such as pain or nausea.
Aromatherapy
A holistic healing treatment that
uses natural plant extracts to
promote health and well-being.
Sometimes it’s called essential oil
therapy. Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve
the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and
emotional health.
Chiropractic
It is primarily used as a pain relief
alternative for muscles, joints,
bones, and connective tissue, such
as cartilage, ligaments, and
tendons. It is sometimes used in
conjunction with conventional
medical treatment. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and
other alternative treatments, the theory being that proper alignment of the
body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, will enable the body
to heal itself without surgery or medication.
Reflexology
While acupressure uses over 800 reflex points that are
found along long thin energy lines called meridians that run
the length of the entire body.
Reflexology uses reflexes that are in an orderly
arrangement resembling the shape of the human body on
the feet, hands, and outer ears. Therefore, you can treat
illnesses or physical pain through the “reflexive points” in
the hands and feet
Pranic healing
It is an energy “no-touch” healing system
based on the fundamental principle that
the body has the innate ability to heal
itself. Pranic Healing utilizes “life force,”
“energy,” or prana to accelerate the
body's inborn ability to heal itself. It is
practiced by hundreds of thousands
across the world.
Massage
There are several types of massages that focus
on different parts of the body or healing
approaches. Massage is the practice of rubbing
and kneading the body using the hands. During
a massage, a massage therapist will apply gentle
or strong pressure to the muscles and joints of the
body to ease pain and tension. A massage
therapist is a person trained in giving massages.
