METHOD STATEMENT
Crack repair by gravity feed with CIKOpoxy CF
The repair applies to Horizontal concrete elements such as raft slab, bridge and parking decks, and
similar surfaces.
Surface preparation

1. Proper preparation of cracks for gravity feed of resin is essential to successful repair, all potential
barrier to allow passage of resin must be removed.
2. Clean away all dirt, oil grease, paints striping curing compound and sealers
3. Chase & Open the cracks in a V-shape using disk grinder to approx. 10mm depth to provide feeding
funnel for the epoxy resin to flow through the depth of the crack and ensure complete seal
4. Upon cutting the cracks , use vacuum or high air pressure to remove all loose concrete and dust
from the vicinity of the crack line to make sure no intrusion to allow the resin to flow

Equipment
For a small to midsize project:
Mixing buckets, drills, mixing paddles Flat Rubber squeezes, brooms, or rollers
Small cans or squeeze bottles for pouring into individual cracks Grinder and air compressor.

Repair Procedures
Mixing
After preparing the surfaces, the entire contents of the hardener should be poured into the base
container and mix for 5 minutes or till obtaining a homogeneous mix. If cracks run all the way through
and underside of the deck or slab is accessible, seal the underside of the cracks at least temporarily to
prevent resin loss.
Pouring of Resin
1. Pour the mixed material (within the pot life of the Resin) into the V-shape of the cracks mouth and
allow it to penetrate, keep filling the cracks until they will no longer accept the Resin.
2. Make sure in the case where the crack continues through of the free edge of the slab, to seal the
open face by Cikopoxy Putty to prevent the resin to flow out of the crack.
3. Cikopoxy putty supplied in 2 two component, mix component A thoroughly for 2 min and then add
the complete can of component B and mix further for 3 min to obtain homogenous mix
Inspect for Filling
Look for signs of penetration such as air bubbles escaping from the cracks as the resin displaces the
air.
Allow minimum 20-30 min for penetration.
