 create students awareness about various air pollutants

 creating correct and positive attitudes of students towards ensuring the purity of air

Specific aims:
At the end of the lesson student should:

• know what chemicals are polluting the air,

• know the sources of air pollution,

• know the side effects of polluted air for people and the environment

 lists the sources, types and effects of air pollution,

 explains notion of the greenhouse effect,
 explain what the ozone hole is,

b) STUDENT UNDERSTANDS:

• understands the threats arising from air pollution,

• proposes ways to prevent excessive increase of the greenhouse effect,
• suggests ways to prevent the ozone hole from expanding,
• plans procedures to protect air from pollution,

c) STUDENT IS ABLE TO:

 list sources of air pollution,

 describe the consequences of air pollution for humans,
 describe the greenhouse effect, ozone hole, acid rain,
 check the air quality in the nearest area.

METHODS:

 working with student’s book, show, discussion, causerie

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

 student’s book

then they divide them into those of the natural or anthropogenic origin.
• "The greenhouse effect" - a presentation prepared by the students.
• 'Ozone hole' - a presentation prepared by the students.
• Discussion on acid rain, smog and when it occurs.
• Discussion on how to prevent air pollution and the greenhouse effect, and how to prevent
the ozone hole from expanding.
