Activities to develop
Pre-task:
1. Each student must read the documents for unit 3 to acquire the
theoretical basis necessary to develop this activity.
Task:
2. Using the information read for this unit about the replication,
transcription, and translation of the genetic code, the student
must design an infographic explaining those processes in
eukaryotic cells, the molecules that participate and the
importance of those processes for the living systems. All the
content inside the infographic must be in English and
must be done with the student’s own words. You can use
images from any source (don’t forget to cite), but exact
content from any source will not be allowed.
3. The student must read the article “The origin of the genetic
code: theories and their relationships” and then elaborate an
abstract with the most relevant information of the article. The
abstract must be written in Spanish, individually, and
using the student’s own words, it should not present textual
copy from the original article and should have between 400–800
words (approximately 1 ½ – 2 ½ pages written in 1.5 line
spacing).
4. Each student must send the progress of the activity through the
collaborative forum of Unit 3, no later than 3 days before the
closing of the activity.
