We are writing that the famous travel writer Mr David Price will unfortunately not be
able to attend our next club meeting. Although Mr Price will not be there to sign
copies of his new book Around the World in Eighty Ways, members of the club will
be able to buy a copy at the price of twenty-five pounds. If you would like to reserve
a copy of the book, please contact the club secretary.

I feel it is unacceptable ​that t​he club does not keep its promises. Besides, I think the club
should rethink the price of the copy of the book if the writer can not attend ​to (​you don’t need
“to”​)​ the club meeting.

I would like to suggest several alternatives:

1. ​ ​(I would say “first of all” just next to alternatives without separating it from the paragraph,
and “secondly” following it) ​First of all, personally​,​ I believe that you should give me a
discount on the price.

2. Secondly, if you do not want to give me a discount on the price, unless that the writer
signs the copies of the books bought by club members.
