Vanessa E. Bongiorno & David P. Wehner
as the newest members of our team.
Vanessa E. Bongiorno
Vanessa recently joined Ostroff, Hiffa & Associates and
brings over 13 years of government relations experience to
the firm.
Throughout her career, Vanessa has represented a wide variety
of organizations before the NYS Legislature, Executive
Chamber, State agencies and local governments, primarily
in the areas of health care, insurance, human services,
professional licensure, higher education and public safety.
On behalf of her clients, Vanessa has assisted in the creation
and development of key legislative initiatives, political
strategies, grassroots advocacy campaigns and building
broad based coalitions to strengthen their cause. She has
extensive experience in budgetary and legislative analysis, as
well as advocating for the enactment of policy in New York
State. Vanessa has also advised clients regarding the NYS
Lobby Act and NYS Board of Elections Campaign Finance
compliance, reporting and record keeping obligations.
Vanessa is a graduate of the State University of New York
at Albany and has a dual Bachelors degree in Sociology and
Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree
in Public Administration from Marist College.
Vanessa lives in Troy with her husband, Adriano.
David P. Wehner
Ostroff, Hiffa & Associates is pleased to announce the addition
of David P. Wehner. David brings 25 years of experience in
public service to the firm. David’s work in New York State
and at the Federal level specializing in public affairs, strategic
communications and business development brings a new
perspective to our clients.
David most recently served as the Executive Director of the
New York State Insurance Fund and Chairman of the New
York State Worker’s Compensation Board. Prior to his nine
years on the executive staff of the New York State Department
of Labor, David served as the State Media Director for the
US Senator Alfonse M. D’Amato both in Washington, D.C.
and in Albany.
David has received recognition for his work while with NYS
government by the NY Claim Association in 2006 and in
2005 by the Society of New York Workers’ Compensation
Bar Association. He is a member of the Monroe Community
College Hall of Fame and he serves on the Board of Directors
of the National Kidney Foundation of Northeast New York.
David holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Communications
from the State University of New York at Albany. David is a
native of Rochester and today resides in Guilderland with his
wife Diane and their three children.
