Introduction of 2020-21 Term 1 College Assemblies, United College, CUHK (GEUC 1000)
[Special Arrangement under COVID-19]
 

In view of the pandemic, the College has launched a special arrangement on College
Assemblies in Term 1 of 2020-21 to facilitate students to fulfil their attendance
requirement. 

[Attendance Requirement]
1.        “College Assemblies” (Course Code: GEUC 1000) is a part of the College General
Education Programme.
It is non-credit bearing but with an attendance requirement.

2.         All students are required to take GEUC 1000, except those on Engineering work-
study or on clinical studies of some programmes under the Faculty of Medicine.

3.         In Term 1 of 2020-21, students are required to watch at least 2 videos of College
Assemblies on Blackboard within 12 October-30 November 2020.

(The time and duration of each video viewing by each student will be recorded for
attendance counting.)

4.     Students are encouraged to fill in an on-line evaluation questionnaire after watching
a College Assembly video.

5.     Students will receive a course grade according to their attendance records in each
term:
[Pass] for “attendance requirement fulfilled”
[Fail] for “not fulfilling attendance requirement”  

[Content and Format]

Guests from various organizations and fields are invited to give speeches at College
Assemblies; other formats like group discussion and performance may be arranged as
well. A wide range of themes including culture, art, science, social affairs, as well as
those for enhancing personal growth of students will be arranged for our College
Assemblies.

[“E-ticket” Registration] 
No E-ticket Registration is required for Term 1 of 2020-21. (No quota limit for each video-
viewing.)

For Year 1 students, a selection of 6 talks recorded in our earlier College Assemblies in
the last 2 years are available for viewing, in order to help our freshmen develop a sense
of belongings to our College.

For students of Year 2 or above, the College offers a selection of 6 talks and performance
for their viewing. Talks 2B and 2C were recorded in February and August 2020,
respectively, but they have not yet been released by the College. Talk 2A will be recorded
in early October 2020.

香港中文大學聯合書院 2020-21年度上學期『書院聚會』簡介 (GEUC 1000)
【新型冠狀病毒下之特別安排】
 

固應新型冠狀病毒大流行情況，書院為2020-21年度上學期的『書院聚會』作特別安排，以便同學符合課程出席
要求。

【出席要求】
（一）  『書院聚會』(課程編號GEUC 1000) 為聯合書院通識教育課程的其中一個部份，不設學分，只設出席
要求。

（二）  所有學生必須出席書院聚會。 (參加工程學院校外實習及醫學院部份課程的臨床期實習的學生除外。)

 
(三)  2020-21年度上學期，學生只需在2020年10月12日-11月30日內，在 Blackboard平台上觀看兩個書
院
聚會錄影。 學生觀看錄影的長度將會被檢查，以作出席記錄。

(四) 書院鼓勵同學填寫網上檢討問卷。

(五)   書院按同學每學期是否達到出席要求，在同學各學期成績表上列明書院聚會出席率
為「符合出席要求」（Pass）
或「不符合出席要求」（Fail）

【內容及形式】
每次書院聚會設專題探討，邀請各界專家、學者作嘉賓，以增進同學對文化、藝術、科學及社會問題之認識，及
在個人成長方面有所提升。採用之形式包括講座、討論、表演等。

【 “電子門票 ”登記】   
2020-21年度上學期沒有需要進行“電子門票”登記。(觀看錄影不設名額。)

請同學在2020年9月7日起，在書院聚會網頁瀏覽各聚會詳情。

書院為一年級新生安排六個在過去兩年的不同型式聚會的錄影，培養同學對書院的歸屬感。

而對二年級或以上同學，書院提供六個講座及表演供同學選看。2B和2C講座是分別在2020年2月及8月錄影
(書院未曾播放) 。 2A講座將在2020年10月初錄影。
