GUIDELINES IN ATTENDING ONLINE CLASSES

Your virtual classroom is your venue for learning and interacting with your teacher and your classmates.
Just as in your physical classroom, there are also guidelines and policies you need to observe in attending
online classes.

A. Appearance
How you present yourself in front of others will impact your learning. Before you sit in front of
the camera, be sure to dress appropriately. Wear something decent. Shorts, spaghetti-strapped
and tube blouses or low-neck line shirts and blouses, mini-skirts, shirts with vulgar, demeaning
and derogatory prints, pajamas or undergarments are not allowed in your virtual classroom.

Attend the class well-groomed: face clean, no make-up, hair tied or clipped for girls and boys’
hair should be combed.

B. Environment
Find a quiet place with no distraction. Avoid places that your family members use as passage to
and from. References and school materials should be easily accessible to avoid disruption of the
lesson presentation. Turn other gadgets to silent mode and refrain from checking your
notifications during the class.

C. Attendance
Attend every class on time. Check regularly your schedule or calendar to see which subjects will
hold online classes.

D. Conduct During Class

d.1. The chat box should be used for clarification during lesson presentation.
d.2. Avoid using all caps because readers may perceive it as shouting or being angry.
d.3. Use clear and respectful words—not emoticons or chatspeak.
d.4. Do not abuse the chatbox. Give other students the opportunity to learn by not asking too
many questions.
d.5. Do not have private conversations while the lesson is going on.
d.6. Do not open any other application during the lesson.
d.7. Be responsible for your education. How you will learn depends on your willingness to listen,
ask appropriate questions, do the necessary exercises, and submit requirements on time.

E. Security
e.1. Each student is given a secure Google classroom account. Remember to keep the password
secret.
e.2. The password is the only thing that protects a student from pranks or harmful content.
Hence, students should not share the password to anyone.
e.3. When the password is no longer secure it is best to change the password.
e.4. Always log out after finishing class.

F. Integrity
Online learning trains the mind and tests one’s character in terms of accomplishing classwork with
all honesty and integrity. Each student should adhere to the Code of Honor of The Master’s
Academy:
I pledge to maintain the high ideals and integrity of The Master’s Academy by
neither giving nor receiving unauthorized aid in all assessments. I shall not lie,
cheat, plagiarize or be complicit with those who do. I shall rely in the wisdom that
only comes from God.

G. Interruptions
Should there be power interruption, system break down, or conflict with the use of shared gadgets,
online lessons are being recorded and will be sent to the students.
