Activity No 2: Create Your Own (Problem-Solving Activity)

In this exercise, each group must create their own, brand new, problem-solving activity.
 
Uses
This game encourages participants to think about the problem-solving process. It builds skills
such as creativity, negotiation and decision making, as well as communication and time
management. After the activity, groups should be better equipped to work together, and to think
on their feet.
 
What You'll Need

 Ideally five people in each group.

Instructions
1.  Due to the pandemic, rather than spending hours on a problem-solving team building
activity, students must design an original one of their own.
2.  The participants will group themselves and that they have to create a new problem-
solving team building activity. The activity must not be one that they have already
participated in or heard of.
3.   After the time given, each team must present their new activity to everyone else, and
outline its key benefits.

Scenario / Problem: Escape to Survive 

You are in the 5th floor of the building conducting a meeting with 6 members of
marketing team, on the middle of the meeting the fire alarm sound so it is advisable to leave the
room within 10 minutes however it happens that the door is lock and no one’s inside the room
has the key all they’ve got was:

 1 credit card
 2 cups of water 
 2 pieces of handkerchief
 scissor

1)      What would you do in this situation? (If you cannot agree, you can have more than one
suggestion)

In this scenario in order to survive with your teams we have to do the ff.

     1.  Convince your team to stay calm and ask ideas from them who know how to hack the
door knob using a credit card.

     2. In order to prevent inhaling the smoke they should cut and divide the handkerchief
into 6 and put it into the water.

     3. In getting out the entire employee they must have a partner to hold on.  

               

2)      How could you prevent this situation from occurring in the future? (If you cannot agree,
you can have more than one suggestion)

 In order to prevent this from happening, the setting of the meeting should be checked if it is
safe to be held and the room must be prepared in case of emergency.

3)      What entrepreneurial skills and traits are needed to succeed? 

  In order to succeed in this scenario we must possess some traits and skills:

1. Leadership skill, in order to get into the best solution of the problem there must be someone
to lead the team. 

2. Communication skill, to bring out the best idea of your team you have to communicate to
them. Like in this scenario the leader must ask the idea of the team who among are good or has
the capability of hacking the door knob. 

3. Resource allocator, at times when the resources are limited it must be allocated properly
because when they are limited and it wasn't properly allocated it could cause scarcity of
resources and might cause a huge problem in the future. In the scenario if 

4. Risk Taker, we have to take risk to go out in the room in order to survive. In the reality we are
afraid to take risk because we are afraid to fail, we are afraid that it might cause us to fall but if
we try we will know and learn that what we think is impossible could be achieved by a fearless
and a risk taker person.
4. Team work, a team cannot survive in any scenario without teamwork and collaboration
because one way or another you need someone’s hand to lift you up.  

Reflection:

How has this Problem Solving Activity in class prepared you for the future?

   In this Problem Solving Activity prepared us to be ready for any challenges. We need to
set goals and prevent negative thoughts in order to survive. Choice to help, because everyone
of us has dreams in life but they don’t have the courage to continue for maybe some reasons,
and Lastly you need to risk, In life there is no assurance but as long as you will risk even the
chances is only 1 percent. There is still a chance that you will succeed in the future. Everything
that you sacrifice is worth it at the end of the day.

What career do you plan on pursuing after college?

After the 4-year college endeavor in the course and upon receiving the diploma of the
degree, new opportunities open. These opportunities will lead us to at first small opportunities to
big opportunities. Apparently, the future is still uncertain but few plans have already been made.
The career that we'll be pursuing after college will be related to the degree we will finish,
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, and in the future if fortunate, the title that follows. Working
in banks, companies, teaching in the field of accounting, or holding our own business or
company such are the plans that we are planning to pursue after the 4-year endeavor in college,
with what we discussed to each other. By hard work, prayer, and guidance from others and God
with his grant our future will be bright.

What entrepreneurial skills and traits does that problem-solving activity require?

  An entrepreneur is a person who effectively identifies the need within the society and
develops in a way to serve that need as effectively as possible, who manage and invent a new
business, risk a lot to develop products and services that would improve the lives of others.
Entrepreneurs really are a life for creating a difference that adds value to the world. Positive
Attitude, creativity, organization, and relationships are some keys that make a successful
entrepreneur

The entrepreneurial skills and traits that the problem-solving activity requires first is the
vision. Visions on how to think or plan to keep you survive in that situation or the possible outcomes.
All you need is a bit of imagination and the ability to think a bit differently and you’ve come up with a
brilliant new idea. Entrepreneurs are constantly learning and adding value looking to spots where the
pain is. Second  is to lead , a leader knows the way, goes the way and shows the way .Always doing
his or her best to come up with a good result. That has the quality of a strong person, has bright
ideas, initiatives,and has a power to manage his/her members in any kind of circumstances.. Third Is
Flexibility, be able to accept members' opinion, ideas and concerns and be open minded to all.
Fourth is Self-confidence, trust yourself and help each other to escape in that situation. Fifth is
Resilience, knowing how to handle your stress, panic and burnouts. You should keep on fighting on
how to escape from that situation. Sixth Is Interpersonal Skills, you should help each other, work
together as a team and lastly is Persuade, persuade others to not be panic and make things
possible.
