1 Defining the Project Scope
Project Scope is an outline of the requirements of the project. At this
stage, the project team should develop a clear picture of which things
are to be included in the project itself.
A definition of the end result and the mission of the project.
It should be specific , tangible, measureable
identifies the broad or general tasks that must be undertaken.

Breakdown Structure
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a part of the project
plan that defines all the tasks needed to complete the
project. The WBS is basically a table that lists the
activities/tasks and subtasks involved.
A hierarchical outline (map) that identifies the products
and work elements involved in a project.
Defines the relationship of the final deliverable (the
project) to its sub deliverables, and in turn, their
relationships to work packages.
Best suited for design and build projects that have
tangible outcomes rather than process-oriented projects.

Developing a WBS:
Six Simple Steps
1. Meeting with stakeholders
2. Organize the first level according to how they will be managed.
3. Add branches of project management deliverables and
activities
4. Ask for addition details of the project (what are the thing to do,
to produce like reports, and to have tangible outputs)
5. Arrange to hierarchy
6. Edit and revise as needed so that deliverables are nouns
(requirements documents/manuals), activities has a verb and
nouns (write requirements) and to have an enough data for
estimation.
