1. On the 29 March 2019 at 1100 hours GMT, the Authority for EU NAVFOR Operation ATALANTA
will transfer from Northwood OHQ to ROTA OHQ and MSC-HOA to Brest.
At this time, the contact telephone numbers for MSC-HOA will be changed. Please update the
SECONDARY CONTACTS and MSC-HOA VESSEL REGISTRATION text boxes to:

1. As a consequence of Cyclone Idai, which occurred during March 2019, depths, coastline and sea
levels may have changed throughout the region 19° 51' ·7S 34° 51' ·0E Wrecks and
obstructions may have been displaced. Tidal predictions may be unreliable and aids to navigation
may have been damaged, destroyed or be out of position. Mariners should expect considerable
change and seek local knowledge when making for ports or seeking refuge.

1. Groyne extension works are taking place at the entrance to Puerto Lazaro Cardenas.
2. The northern groyne, in the vicinity of position 17° 55' ·567N 102° 09' ·788W , is to be extended
to the SE by approximately 166.6m.
3. The southern groyne, in the vicinity of position 17° 55' ·345N 102° 09' ·850W , is to be extended
to the SE by approximately 50m.
4. The lights, Fl.R.5s16m6M in position 17° 55' ·567N 102° 09' ·788W and Fl.G.5s17m10M in
position 17° 55' ·345N 102° 09' ·850W , have been removed for the duration of the works.
5. Two temporary lit-beacons, Fl.R.3s3m5·5M and Fl.G.3s3m5·5M, have been established at the
north and south groynes respectively. These lit-beacons will be moved as the works progress.
6. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
7. Charts will be updated when full details are available.

1. *Works to construct the new Bahrain Liquefied Natural Gas (BLNG) Terminal have been
completed.
2. *The terminal, centred on position 26° 13' ·980N 50° 44' ·910E , is fitted with red and white
lights, Mo(U).
3. *A new breakwater has been constructed to the north of the terminal, marked by cardinal light-
buoys in the following positions:
4. *A new approach channel and turning basin, marked by light-buoys, exists in the eastern
approaches to the terminal. Vessels are not permitted to cross the BLNG channel without
permission.
5. A submarine pipeline and a submarine cable have been laid joining the following positions:
6. A restricted area, anchoring and fishing prohibited, exists 200m either side of the pipeline and
cable.
7. *Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area and to contact Bahrain Port Control
(VTS) on VHF channel 74 for the latest information.

May 2019. Charts 3737, 3738, 3790 and 2886 will be updated by Notice to Mariners. Chart 3759
