related to International Markets. To do this, you will develop different strategies and

2. Once you have read the previous articles (feel free to read other articles on the
topic), get together with your group and follow these instructions:
You are going to hold a debate about the FTA between Colombia and the
United States and record it on Google Hangout.
Decide the roles for each person (for / against).
Prepare your arguments and make sure you defend your position quite
strongly.
You must provide data and specific information to support your arguments
and the group should reach a conclusion at the end. Make sure you keep
in mind the instructions below.

3. Go over Learning Object 3 to get familiar with the correct way to write a
formal email.

when writing a formal email:

5. In groups, think about a business idea that involves a unique, original,
innovative, and feasible concept. It should be a product that fulfills some real
needs or wants and it should also be new or different from the existing products.
You must choose only one business idea. No evidence of this part is required.
6. Once you have chosen the business idea, work around the following situation:
Lyndon Lea, an English financer and investor, is coming to Colombia soon and
he is looking for great ideas that draw his attention in terms of investment. Write
a formal email in which you include and consider the following information:
Introduction of the company.
What makes it unique and innovative.
Description of the business sector.
Advantages of the product.
Reasons to invest in your company.
Profit expectations and benefits for the investor.
Invitation to go and visit the main office of the company.
Use the expressions for formal emails as explained in the links and
learning object above.
Include vocabulary related to this guide (Activity 2).
You must be quite convincing and thorough so that the investor feels
curious about trying your product.
