COURSE DESCRIPTION: LAW317N – Legal Profession

This one unit course will examine the history and development of legal
profession in the Philippines, its current problems, goals, and its functions
in society. It asks : What is the role of lawyers in society as shaped by laws
and jurisprudence.

COURSE GOALS: Expected College of Law Graduate Attributes (“ELGAs”)

(A) Know and understand the laws;


(B) Memorize provisions;
(C) Develop: (i) critical and analytical thinking; (ii) proficiency in written and
oral communication; and (iii) logical reasoning and sound judgment; and
(D) Exercise proper professional and ethical responsibilities
