Discrimination

Since ancient times in human history, society has rejected and excluded different groups and
minorities, from the use and vision of women as objects in ancient times to the racism that
appears today and that is still being fought. Many minorities throughout history have faced
discrimination and exclusion from society just because they are different, because they do not
have what it takes to be like the society they are part of. Racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and
abuse due to different culture and religion have been just some of the many types of
discrimination that many people, human beings who by right should be equal to everyone else,
have had to suffer. So how can we identify and eliminate this abuse and historical differentiation?

To learn how to identify when and how to deal with a case of discrimination one must first know
what it is; in its most general meaning, discrimination refers to the sociological phenomenon in
human beings that threatens equality, that is, it occurs when there is an adverse attitude toward a
particular, specific, and different characteristic presented by one or more individuals.
Discrimination is caused by fear and rejection of people who are different, this is due to a lack of
education that will lead to ignorance that there is human diversity that must be respected, this is
characterized by the attack, violation, destruction and aggression against the fundamental rights
of others Harming them in all areas. Although we already know what discrimination is, it is not
enough to recognize and deal with it, because of the different mistreatments that different
minorities have received throughout history there are also different types of discrimination.

-racial discrimination: it occurs because of belonging to a non-dominant race or because of

prejudice against an ethnic group.

-gender or sexual discrimination: due to gender inequalities or violence against a sexual

orientation.

-religious discrimination: because of their religious creed, practices or customs. To prevent these
and other types of discrimination, education is required from childhood, which teaches values
such as tolerance, equality and respect, which allows the acceptance of diversity of cultures,
ethnicities and creeds, which promotes free thinking and teaches to renounce prejudice.

discrimination is a struggle that thousands of people have had to face throughout history, is the
fact that looking at you and not allow you to enter somewhere, not talk to you, mistreat you
physically and mentally want to make you feel different, is that prejudice that does not allow them
to know that you like them have what it takes to belong to society. But in spite of the differences,
no one should be treated with inferiority for aspects of his life that only that person is entitled to,
everyone should be treated with tolerance, justice and equality.
