Yarn: Any sport weight yarn, about DIRECTIONS:

870 yards of dark color and 700 yards
of light color. Make twelve hearts squares, six using light color
The sample was made using Debbie yarn and six using dark color yarn. Arrange to
Bliss Baby Cashmerino, 5 skeins of make a 4 squares by 3 squares blanket. Single cro-
dark color (used Royal #43) 4 skeins chet the squares together using the dark color yarn.
light color (used Silver #12). Crochet on a shell border using darker color yarn.
Needles: size US 3 (3.25mm) Weave in the ends and block the blanket.
Notions: darning needle, crochet
hook
Gage: is not critical.
Size: 30 in by 45 in (74 cm by 114 cm)

HEARTS SQUARE:

– Crochet cast on 43 stitches (3 stitches right border, 37 stitches for the hearts pattern, 3
stitches left border)
– Knit 4 rows slipping first stitch from left to right needle without knitting it. (NOTE: Slipping
first stitch makes a neat even border.)
– Work hearts pattern for 73 rows (ending on row 3 of the pattern).
– Knit 4 rows slipping first stitch from left to right needle without knitting it.
– Bind o↵.

STITCH ABBREVIATIONS:

SKP - slip one stitch, knit the next stitch and pass slip stitch over knit stitch (left slanting
