In the main window of vFactory, the customer's factory is displayed as a virtual
factory.
The virtual factory window displays the current operating status of the factory in
real time, which means that you can check the operating status of the factory
without checking with persons in charge who are working at different parts of the
factory.
Also, each machine connected to vFactory is displayed using colors and animations
that represent the condition of the machine at that particular point in time.

[Display of Customer's Factory Layout]

*vFactory displays the layout of your factory on a computer.

The machines that have the most significant impact on production are shown in
vFactory. (It is not an exact representation of your factory.)

When the machine has been stopped or in the setup mode for a specified time, the
machine will blink on the vFactory window to notify to the factory manager or person
in charge that the machine has been stopped/in the setup mode for an extended
time so they can grasp the situation and act on it quickly.

3-4. Daily Work
The operation information collected by vFactory from various machines can be
viewed from the Daily Work menu to analyze the results from various viewpoints.

3-4-1. Daily Work by Process

- Process: The operating status of the machine in each process during
the specified time can be checked.
3-4-2. Daily Work by Machine
- Machine: The operating status of the specified machine during the
specified period can be checked.
3-4-3. Benchmark
- Process: The work-rate on the day can be checked for each process.

Operation

(1) Select the vFactory main function button Daily Work.

(2) Select the submenu Daily Work - Process or Machine.
– To view the daily work of machines for each process, select Process.
– To view the daily work of each machine, select Machine.
* You can check the details by referring to the daily work for the Machine.

16 © Copyright 1998-2007 AMADA CO.,LTD. All rights reserved.

3-4-1. Daily Work by Process
The machine operating statuses in each process during the specified period can
be checked.

Machine statuses are analyzed using the following three calculation methods:

1. Status: The cumulative operating time of each machine in each process

during the specified period can be checked.
2. Ratio: The cumulative work-rate of each machine in each process during
the specified period can be checked.
3. History: The daily operating status of each machine in each process can
be checked.
By analyzing the load balance of each machine during operation, you can take
appropriate measures to prevent jobs from being concentrated on a specific
machine. (Load distribution)
Causes of low machine work-rates include frequent planning or alarms and
inefficient processing. It is possible to check whether or not these situations
apply to a particular machine.

3-4-2. Daily Work by Machine
You can view the operating status of the specified machine during the specified
period.

Machine statuses are analyzed using the following three calculation methods:

1. Status: The cumulative operating time of the machine during the specified
period can be checked.
2. Ratio: The cumulative work-rate of the machine during the specified
period can be checked.
3. History: The daily operating status of the machine can be checked.
How the machine load changes with manufacturing instructions can be checked,
and this information can be used to check the load allowance of the machine.
One cause of low work-rates for machines is frequent planning or alarms. It is
possible to check whether or not this situation is applicable.

3-4-3. Benchmark
The level of the day's machine work-rate in comparison with the standard can be
determined for each process.

Standard: The work-rate (%) corresponding to the operating time/work

hours value pre-registered under system settings is displayed.
Actual result: The work-rate since the morning of the current day is displayed
in real time. (Current operating time/current power ON time)
Judgment: Good, Warning or Action is displayed as the judgment result
according to the judgment threshold pre-registered under system
settings.

If the above judgment is not ideal, conduct analysis in vFactory or using other
systems to check the reason for the low work-rate, or check the status with the
person in charge, to resolve the problem quickly.

target work-rate.
Warning: Input the rate at which a Warning judgment will be made due to
a low work-rate. (Standard setting: 70%)
Action: Input the rate at which an Action judgment will be made due to a
low work-rate. (Standard setting: 50%)
-Part process time excess ratio: Judgment is made based on the rate of
substantial excess of the actual bending time with respect
to the standard time. (New: Dr. ABE time / Repeat:
Average of past 10 operations)
