Crutchfield believes that a successful movement follows a specific pattern. In this patter the
"grassroots," or people are the most important. The movement has to connect to the people and help
them to stay focused, but also need to adapt to represent the people of their movement. Money is also
important, so businesses should be brought in, but money is not as important as the people.

Informational or Persuasive?
This is a persuasive article pretending to be an informational article. It does provide information on the
book and on movements, but it is done in the hopes that you will buy Crutchfield's new book.

Is it persuasive? I think so, especially if I am an activist looking to make my movement successful. I would
buy her book.

Rhetorical appeals? Ethos, Pathos, and Logos

Logical fallacies? Not that I could find. Every premise was supported with research and facts.
