Objective

Design food delivery app for specially abled blind-deaf people.

Challenges
1. Blind-deaf people can’t see the app screen to read-follow instructions or assess their progress on app accordingly.
2. They can’t recieve feedbacks for their actions on app. visually or vocally.
3. To develop a food delivery app withing exisiting eco system of technology.

Assumptions
1. Users(Blind-deaf) need to be given some sort of formal training to use this app.
2. They have few some sort of care taker, friends, relatives who they can trust.
3. Onboarding is done in presence of a trust worthy friend/relative/care taker to verify authencity and correctness user data.

Design Process
The inablity of user to see the interface of mobile to click right buttons, track progress of actions of their from screen is really challenging,
Although modern phones do comes with accesblity options where blind people can operate mobile through voice hearing back
options/contents from screen but our users are deaf also so it gets challenging on many levels. To find my way around these challenges
i thought of concentrating on their voice, touch and ablity of user to feel sensations related to smartphones like vibrations.

Research
My user research process started by understanding deaf blind people by looking at different posts on the web and youtube videos.
Few key things observed and some educated assumptions based on findings are
1. Deaf blind people feel very lonely in themselves.
2. Getting outside from there home is a painful task for them
3. Most of them have some care taker, friends who closely help them in many activities
4. They are keen learners and actively look to learn new techniques/language which can help them in daily life.
5. There senses are really good they can sense touch very attentively.

While doing UI-design i have tried to keep the interface minimal as per the blind deaf user needs also it occured to my mind that it can get difficult
for them to tap buttons on screen as they will find it difficult to locate buttons on screen in this case we can use volume controls present on the side
body of phone to take input commands from them these buttons can be easlily located also they give clucky feeling on pressed so it can give feedback
to blind-deaf people for an action/event. Hence in my minimal screen design for users i have kept two primary actions mapped with volume control for
better user experience.

Volume control button

can come handy for taking
user input command for
blind deaf people as it has
less significance to them
other wise
